Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Engineering Management The Entrepreneurial Journey of an Arab Female in Tech EM Seminar Series - Fall 2017 Seminar Topic: About Speaker: Priscilla Elora Sharuk is the Co-Founder & COO of the Cyber Security company Myki, the first MENA-based company to be shortlisted for the most prestigious Tech competition in the world: TechCrunch Disrupt Battlefield in San Francisco. Myki was named Forbes Top 100 Arab Companies 2017. The pitching skills she acquired while building her company inspired her to create “PitchPlease”, a series of interactive workshops and one-on-one sessions geared towards helping fellow entrepreneurs optimize their pitch decks in visuals, content, and delivery. Priscilla has coached more than 100 startups in the past year alone, and is the Pitching Coach for numerous programs including Speed@BDD accelerator, the American University of Beirut’s Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, National Instruments, and Agrytech. She was named: “Forbes Top 7 Entrepreneurs in MENA for 2017”, Finalist for "Stars of Business Leadership Awards 2017’, Finalist for "Brilliant Lebanese Awards 2017" by BLC Bank, “Game Changer 2016” by Women’s Health Magazine, and "Leader of Innovation 2016" by the American University of Beirut. Before taking a leap into her ultimate passion: Technology, Priscilla was a Landscape Architect who has worked with the likes of Zaha Hadid on numerous regional projects. She graduated from the American University of Beirut, is Lebanese, and speaks English, Arabic, and French. Priscilla believes in sharing with others what she continues to learn on her entrepreneurial journey to inspire others to take risks and build businesses.
