INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE:

JSS Academy of Technical Education, Bengaluru was established in the year 1997 under the umbrella of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru. The Campus is located in a sprawling 21 acres of land surrounded by lush green plantation on the South-Western edge of Bengaluru City. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF E&CE:

The Department has well qualified & dedicated team of faculty working in a conducive environment. The Department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in Power Electronics, Microcontrollers, Microprocessors, Digital Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Analog and Advanced Communication, VHDL, VLSI and Embedded Systems. The Department has established IEEE JSSATE - Student Branch & IETE Student Forum which organizes many technical lectures and workshops every year.

Department has industry - institute interaction and MOUs signed with TI for ASLKv2010 and MSP430 training programs at JSSATE, Bengaluru, Kanada Technologies, Apsis Solutions, EFY, LiveWire.

ABOUT VGST:

VGST emphasizes for a strong foundation in the pure sciences with prudent investment to reap rich dividends in the future. For the year 2017-18, the VGST has formulated a set of 7 programs to promote science education and research in the state.

VGST work encompasses:

t Formulation of programs relating to advancement of science and Technology in the state

t Developing state level Science and Technology promotional modules/ instruments.

t Strengthening educational institutions for imparting good quality teaching and conducting research.

t Promotion of Science and Technology in the state.

ABOUT THE FDP:

This FDP is an initiative program enabling the teaching faculty towards enhancing the effectiveness of their teaching- learning process on the latest technology, bringing in the practical application perspective and practices in teaching/learning pertaining to the present technology.

This workshop includes Basics of IoT, Programming TIVA using TM4C123G & with energia IDE, Hardware Communication Protocols, IQmath library, Embedded Wi-Fi and Internet of Things using CC3100 Booster Pack, 3-Tier architecture of IoT applications and related protocols, Embedded Linux and Python programming for IoT, IoT for smart cities and industrial visit.

The faculties after attending the FDP will train students and help them develop prototypes and nurture the same to project.

Ÿ To build the relevant technical skills in faculty in IoT.

Ÿ Nurture the students to work on the present technology industrial standards.
