Awards, Honors and Appointments

! Reverend John J. Chadwick, S.T.D., began a leave of absence from his position as

Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology when he was appointed as the Rector of the

College Seminary of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Andrew’s Hall, effective

August 13, 2014. Father Chadwick is teaching at Immaculate Conception Seminary

School of Theology as an adjunct professor of Systematic Theology during Fall 2014.

! Reverend Christopher M. Ciccarino, K.H.S., S.S.L., S.T.D., Associate Dean for

Seminary and Academic Studies and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, was invested

into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem during a Mass and

ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City, on September 27, 2014.

! Jeffrey L. Morrow, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Undergraduate Theology:

o Served as a guest presenter via Skype video for an open forum Q&A session on

Catholicism, for the Catholic Inquiry class led by Vincent Mooney, at the Georgia

Tech Catholic Center, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, on September

21, 2014.

o Presented “Mary, Our Queen and Our Mother.” Lecture, for the annual luncheon

of the Rosary Society of the Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park, NJ, on

October 5, 2014.

! Dianne M. Traflet, J.D. ’88, S.T.D., Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and

Administration; Assistant Professor of Pastoral Theology; and Founder and Director,

Institute for Christian Spirituality, presented “Mary and the Vocation of Women: The

Cana Connection.” Lecture, at the Communion Breakfast of the Rosarians of St. Peter

Parish, held at the Chandelier, Belleville, NJ, on October 5, 2014.

! Justin M. Anderson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Moral Theology, presented

“Laughter from Bricks: St. Teresa of Avila’s Secret to a Happy Life.” Lecture, for The

Avila Lecture Series, at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Summit, NJ, on the feast day of St.

Teresa of Avila, October 15, 2014. This lecture focused on the idea of contemplation as

it appears in the life of St. Teresa of Avila and what it means for every Christian to have

a contemplative spirit or attitude.

! Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology sponsored the following:

o Catholic Evangelization Conference, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Ridgewood, NJ,

on October 4, 2014. Julie V. Burkey, M.A.P.M. ’04, D.Min., Coordinator,

Workplace Spirituality and Evangelization Initiatives, Institute for Christian

Spirituality, and Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology, facilitated this conference.

o Encountering Jesus Christ in the Gospel: An Introductory Mini-Bible Study, at Church of the

Immaculate Conception, Montclair, NJ, on Saturdays, October 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Gregory Y. Glazov, D.Phil. (Oxon.), Associate Professor of Biblical Studies,

facilitated this series.

o Catholic Moral Controversies, lecture series, at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Parish, Cedar

Knolls, NJ. This series included the following lectures by Justin M. Anderson,

Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Moral Theology:

" “Beginning of Life Issues: Artificial Contraception; In Vitro Fertilization.”

Mission and Service

! Zeni V. Fox, Ph.D., Professor of Pastoral Theology, and Deacon Andrew E.

Saunders, M.A. ’08, Acting Director, Center for Diaconal Formation, served as team

teachers for ELMP 6871: Principal as Catholic School Servant Leader, a course in the M.A.

program in Education Leadership, Management and Policy (focusing on Catholic School

! Justin M. Anderson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Moral Theology, presented

“Happiness and Contemplation.” Lecture, to the contemplative branch of the

Missionaries of Charity, Plainfield, NJ, on October 14, 2014.

! Reverend Zbigniew Tyburski, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology,

Truth.” Homiletic and Pastoral Review (May 24, 2014).

! Reverend W. Jerome Bracken, C.P., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Moral Theology,

as National Chaplain of CUSA, an Apostolate of Persons with Chronic Illness or

Disability, published a chaplain’s letter: “A Letter to CUSANs.” The CUSAN (Summer

! Reverend Thomas G. Guarino, K.H.S., S.T.D., Professor of Systematic Theology,
