Sharing FactoryWiz DNC Server Folder Beforestartingthissection,youshouldbeproficientatsharingfolders,understandinguserpermissions,managingusersinadomainorworkgroupenvironment,determininghostnames,andotherbasicnetworkingtasks.Ifyouarenotproficientat,ordonothaveauthorizationtoperformthesetasks,thenyoushouldseektheassistanceofyourITprofessionalforthefollowingsection.

Configuremenu

Monitoring FactoryWizDNCprovidesfullintegrationwiththeFactoryWizMonitoringsolutiontomakeiteasytoupgradetoafullmonitoringsysteminthefuture.Withthistightintegration,monitoringdatasuchasmachineidlereasonscanbeenteredfromanyDNCclientstation–orfilequeuingcanbeperformedfromdatainputtabletsusedforyourmonitoringsystem.Informationlikemacrooutputsandprobedataareeasilysharedbetweenthetwo.FactoryWizMonitoringisaseparateproduct.

Users and Permissions AdditionaluserscanbeallowedaccesstotheFactoryWizDNCClient.Thedefinitionofeachuserincludesfullcontroloverindividualactionsthatcanbeperformedbythatuserandthemachinestheyareallowedtosee.

EachuserhasacustomizablesetofpermissionsthatcontrolthetaskstheyareallowedperforminFactoryWizDNCClient.Youcanrestrictanenduserfromperformingcertaintasksandviewingcertainmachines.

Note:Whenanewuserisadded,allpermissionsaregrantedbydefaultexceptfortheabilitytoconfigurethesystem.Onlytrustedusersshouldbeallowedtochangethesystemconfiguration.

Control the Machines Visible to a User

1. OntheUserspage,selectauserintheUserlist.

InthelistofMachinesVisible,anymachinegroupthatishighlightedinthelistwillbevisibletotheuseronthemainmenu.Anygroupthatisnothighlightedwillnotbedisplayedtotheuser.

Bydefault,ALLGROUPSishighlightedforanewuser.Thisallowsthenewusertoseeallmachinegroups.

2. InthelistofMachinesVisible,selectagrouptomakeitvisibletotheuser.Selectahighlightedgrouptoclearitandmakeitinvisibletotheuser.HighlighALLGROUPStomakeallmachinevisibletotheuser.

3. Tosaveyourchangesandreturntothemainmenu,clickReturntoMainMenu.
