Teachrecipientofnewplantshowtomanageandmaintain.Followingmorningtea,thewholeteamwenttothebamboonurseryestablishedbyForestryDepartment.Theparticipantswereexposedtodifferentvarieties/speciesofbambooinFijipresent(sofarthereareonly7).Theresourcepersonalsodemonstratedtotheparticipantsonhowtomaintaintheclumpsandalsoexplainedthereason for marking the individual bamboo so that only 4 years old matured is harvested and others allowedbuildup.After much discussion and lunch, the resource person demonstrated the technique of propagating bamboousingyoungbranches.ConclusionThetrainingconcludedwithremarksfromEuropeanCommissiondelegateMsCristinaCasellawhoshowedherappreciation for such training.
