Driving Progress 2015-11-27 ENG Version 09 FACT SHEET Power take-off PTRD-D1 The PTRD-D1 is a gearbox-mounted, high speed, clutch de- pendent power take-off with a rear flange connection for a directly mounted propeller shaft, and a front DIN connection for a directly mounted hydraulic pump. The power take-off is available for manual gearboxes, I-Shift included. It is driven via the gearboxes’ intermediate shaft and is mounted on the rear side of the gearbox. Rpm and output are governed by the engine’s speed and the gearboxes’ gear ratio. Clutch dependent power take-offs can only be used when the vehicle is at a standstill, and they are engaged by a pneumatic system. The power take-off stops when the clutch pedal is depressed, which means that this power take-off can only be used when the vehicle is at a standstill. The power take-off is suitable for applications such as: • Timber crane • Bulk transport • Cement mixer The following product features characterise the PTRD-D1: • Fitted on the rear side of the gearbox and driven via the gear- boxes’ intermediated shaft. • Robust dimensions offer high operating reliability and a long service life. • Rpm and output are governed by the engine’s speed and the gearboxes’ gear ratio. • Reliable engagement is carried out by a pneumatic system. • Double housings with a rear flange connection for a directly mounted propeller shaft, and a front DIN connection for a directly mounted hydraulic pump. • Available for manual gearboxes, I-Shift included. FACT SHEETPower take-off PTRD-D1

The PTRD-D1 is a gearbox-mounted, high speed, clutch de-pendent power take-off with a rear flange connection for a directly mounted propeller shaft, and a front DIN connection for a directly mounted hydraulic pump.

The power take-off is suitable for applications such as:• Timber crane• Bulk transport• Cement mixer

The following product features characterise the PTRD-D1:• Fitted on the rear side of the gearbox and driven via the gear-

boxes’ intermediated shaft.• Robust dimensions offer high operating reliability and a long

service life.• Rpm and output are governed by the engine’s speed and the

gearboxes’ gear ratio.• Reliable engagement is carried out by a pneumatic system.• Double housings with a rear flange connection for a directly

mounted propeller shaft, and a front DIN connection for a directly mounted hydraulic pump.

• Available for manual gearboxes, I-Shift included.

Clutch dependent power take-offThe power take-off (1) is mounted on the rear side of the gearbox. A connecting shaft (2) transfers power from the gearboxes’ inter-mediate shaft to the power take-off’s input shaft (3), from which power is transferred via the power take-off’s intermediate shaft (4)to the output shaft (5).

Engagement/disengagement from the driver’s seatEngagement and disengagement are done with two conveniently located switches on the instrument panel. The left switch, marked 1, activates the power take-off and the DIN connection for a directly mounted hydraulic pump. The right switch, marked 2, activates the flange connection (SAE 1410) for a directly mounted propeller shaft.

NB! The right switch, marked 2, cannot be activated separately. It can only be activated if the left switch, marked 1, is already activated.

The pneumatic and mechanical design is constructed as follows: An engaging ring (6) connects the connecting shaft (2) to power take-off’s input shaft (3). The engaging ring is operated with a selector fork (7) by a compressed-air powered piston (8) in the control cylinder (9). The compressed air for the respective control cylinders is regulated by a solenoid valve.

Switches on the instrument panel are marked 1 (left) and 2 (right).
