Potential GapsNotwithstanding the southwest De-Escalation Area (SWDEA) the use of heavy weapons fire continued throughout the reporting period.
Between 12-17 March 2018, aerial bombard-ment was reported in several communities northeast of Dar’a Governorate, including Hrak, Alma, Eastern Maliha, Western Maliha, Bisr al-Harir, Sura, Mlihet al-Atash, Um Weld, Western Ghariyeh, and Masakiyeh in Laja among others resulting in the displacement of over 7,000 individuals.
Humanitarian ResponseDuring the month, the UN and their humanitarian partners have continued cross border operation to meet humanitarian needs in the south.
Nearly the entire population displaced by the air bombardment was covered by a rapid food and NFI kit response A shelter response has been completed during the same period, this response exhausted the already depleted preparedness stocks of emergency shelter.
