Facebook Widget Guide (Last Updated: 03/27/2013) Connect with your audience on the world's largest social network through our handy Facebook Widget. From your Facebook fan page, you can now collect personal information from your audience members and have it be instantly added to your existing contact database.

How to Create a Facebook Widget 1. Create a new Facebook Sign-up Page (i.e., Facebook Widget). 2. Connect your existing Facebook fan page, or create a new one. 3. Customize your Facebook Widget. 4. Review your Facebook Widget.


1. Create a new Facebook Sign-up Page.

For Sign-up Page Type, select Facebook Sign-up Page. Then, click Get Facebook Page List.

From the main navigation bar, go to Collect Contacts and select Create a New Online Sign-up Page from the drop-down menu.


2. Connect your existing Facebook fan page, or create a new one.

After you click on Get Facebook Page List, you will need to login into your Facebook account through the pop-up window.

Once you do, you can select from one of your Facebook fan pages. If you do not have a Facebook fan page, click on Create a New Fan Page.


How to create a new Facebook fan page

First, you’ll need to submit some basic information about your organization, like the type of fan page, address, and phone number.

After that, you can upload your Profile Picture, add an About description for your page, and choose a unique Facebook Web Address. At the end, you can even advertise your fan page.


Once you’re done making these basic settings, you can see your Facebook fan page.

Next, you’ll probably want to add some status updates and gather fans (see the Build Audience button) to be able to access the Insights feature, which provides social analytics for your page once you get 30 or more fan Likes. Keep in mind that you’re not limited to one fan page; just click Create Page to make another one!


3. Customize your Facebook Widget.

Once you select your Facebook fan page, the field for Facebook Page URL will be filled in and you can begin customizing your Facebook Widget.

You can configure many things, including the type of data you’d like to collect from your fans and whether you’d like to send a thank you message after they fill out your Widget.

Start your relationship on the right foot.

Select a distribution list to assign new contacts to.


Congratulations! Your Facebook Widget is now ready to go.

4. Review your Facebook Widget.

When you’re done designing your Facebook Widget, make sure everything looks and works the way you want it to. Test it out by completing the form and then verify that the information has been added to your distribution list under Manage Contacts in our system.


How to remove your Facebook Widget

In case you’re not happy with your Facebook Widget or placed it on the wrong Facebook fan page, here’s how you can remove it.

In our system, on the top navigation bar, click on Collect Contacts. In the Online Sign-up Pages section, select the Facebook Widget and click the Delete button.

Although your widget will no longer be in our system, you’ll need to go back to your Facebook fan page to remove our Facebook app.

1.) Press this button to see all your Facebook tabs. 2.) Next, hover over the green pencil icon to see the “pencil” edit button. From the drop-down menu, select Uninstall App.
