INTRODUCTIONTOTHEFACEUPLESSONDELIVERYTOOL

WhatthistoolisforThistoolisdesignedtobecompletedaftereachlessonofFaceUp,bytheteacherdeliveringthelesson.Itcanbecompletedelectronically(preferably)oronpaper.Itshouldtakeabout5minutestocompletethetoolforeachFaceUplesson.Werecommendthatitiscompletedassoonaspossibleafterthelessonwhilethingsarestillfreshinthemind.ThepurposeofthistoolistohelpusbetterunderstandwhatisbeingdeliveredinclassroomsintermsofFaceUplessons,whatworkswellandwhatmaynotbeworkingsowell.Italsoasksaboutpupilengagementwiththeactivitiesandtheusefulnessofthelessonplans.WhatisinthetoolTherearetwopagestobecompletedforeachFaceUplesson.Thefirstpageasksaboutthingslikethetimingofdelivery,lessonplanningandpupilengagement,andhasabriefchecklistforrecordingwhichpartsofthelessonwerecovered.Thesecondpageasksabouttheexperienceofdeliveringthelesson–whatwentwell,lesswelletc.HowtousethetoolThistoolispresentedintheformofabooklet,withonebooklettobemaintainedforeachpupilclassorformgroup.WearerequestingthattheschoolHEARTScoordinatorensuresthateachclasshasabooklet,firstfillingintheinformationonthecover,andthatitismaintainedregularlybytheteacher(s)deliveringtheprogramme.IfthereismorethanoneteacherwhodeliversFaceUptoaclass,itisimportanttoensurethatthebookletispassedtotherelevantteachersothattheycancompleteattheendofthelesson.Ifcompletingthetoolelectronically,pleaseclickontherelevanttickboxestoindicateyourresponseandtypecommentsintothetextboxes.Toundoatickclickontherelevantboxagain.WearealsoaskingthattheschoolHEARTScoordinatoremailsthecompletedbookletsforeachclasstotheResearchCoordinator,ShreyaSonthalia.Itwouldbegoodifthesecouldbesenteverytwoweeksoraftereverytwolessons.HowtheinformationwillbeusedTheinformationprovidedinthecourseoffillinginthetoolwillbeveryvaluablefortheHEARTSproject.Itwillbeusedbytheresearchteam(DartingtonSocialResearchUnit)toanalysethedeliveryofFaceUplessons.ItwillalsobeusedbytheresearchteamandthedeveloperofFaceUp(ArielTrust)tohelprefineFaceUp.Noidentifyinginformationwillappearinreportsoftheresearch(i.e.noteacherorschoolnames),andtheinformationisnotbeingusedtomonitorteacherperformance.Ifyouhaveanyquestionsaboutanyofthis,pleasecontactShreyaSonthalia:E:[email protected]:02037017321
