The Face of Death
Death, I can see you,So near where I could
Sense your freezing gasp.
What do the doctors try,And the white clad nurses?
Did they say it is looming,
From my silent tears?
Time to recall,The frosty moments,
Those last minutes,
f grandpa, grandma, and!om, then Dad.
"es, it is coming. The echo, of
The gentle steps,Are coming closer,
"es, it is,
The #uler of the departed,
To ta$e me along,The icy %uffalo steps &
'efore you silence me,Some more time, for
The unspo$en things,To my %elo(ed, and
To tell her,!y lo(e was the purest,
In the whole uni(erse)
A few unseen relish that
I ne(er felt through)
Some more colours,f magnificence, for
!y eyes to carry)
'efore the eyes close fore(er,
*et me see, the+reen memories of youth,

The same murmurs, ofDoctors and nurses,

Illusions apart,
I am %ac$ to life, li$eThe rising dust, or
