Fabricated wound: Definition: These are self inflicted wounds to support a false charge or to afford suspicion from oneself. They are usually done by the person himself (self inflicted wounds) to give suspicious of self defense or by the aid of another person in agreement with him Such injuries may be produced for the following reasons : - Simulated offences -To charge an enemy with assault or attempted murder -To make a simple injuries appear serious -Fictitious sexual assault by women to bring a rape charge against enemy -Feigned robbery by policemen, servants and watchmen acting in collusion with robbers to show that they were defending the property - By the assailant, to pretend self-defence or to change the appearance of wounds which might connect him with the crime -By prisoners, to bring a charge of beating or torture against officers - By soldier recruits, to escape military service -For insurance or workmen’s compensation claims - In psychiatrically ill patients -Suicidal acts Causative instrument: usually sharp Type of wound - often ,cut wounds -sometimes ,bruises - rarely, firearm and contused Characters :
