The project consists of a series of temporary structures whose aim is to enhance the interaction between the Roma camp’s inhabitants and the families living in the same city areas. The space between the camp and the neighbourhood has always been left to the borders both physically and politically, becoming a no man’s land. The Roma’s cultural conception of space give an input to the final

solutions of modular structures. These stuctures form different layouts working in different contexts and various functions.

Important actors in the interaction between the two realities are the children. The designed services of the projects are: informations, playgrounds and intergenerational echanges.

NROMA PEOPLE AND USDESIGN OF TEMPORARY SPACES FOR INTERACTION BETWEEN ROMA CAMPS AND THE CITY

INFO

Just like a good parasite, these interaction spaces are evolving while they are living with their host. When the interaction process is over they move to another camp area, leaving a mark for an important change in

the neighbourhood. From this point of view the settlement of a Roma camp is seen as a tangible resource for the city district they are built in.

IMBARCADEROPROJECT FRO A FERRY-STOP IN VENICE, SAN ZACCARIA

Glass, transparency and flexibility.

The project of a ferry-stop in the cityof Venice: a place where like nowhere it’s important, for a ferry-stop, not to leave a strong architectural impact, changing the surrounding area.

The visitor, while is waiting for the ferry to come, may have a look of

the beauties of the city in all the direc-tions.

From a distance it looks like a glass boxfloating on the water and showing its lightness.

THE FOG WITHINPROJECT FOR A HOTEL SINGLE AND DOUBLE ROOM , CASA DI VIA AMPERE, MILANO

Fog is the symbol of Milan, a city that keeps its beauty hide, slowly revealingitself. At the same time fog well represents the condition of somebody who is aching for a disease, imprisoned in his own suffering. The idea of creating an unsubstantial and almost unreal place refers also to the condition of these people who are often far from their homes and from their everyday lives. The room is a kind of passage, a jour-ney through the human experience of pain.

Somebody can reach the light, wich represents both himself and the world outside, by passing over the barrier of the fog, his pain.

THE FOG WITHINPROJECT FOR A HOTEL SINGLE AND DOUBLE ROOM , CASA DI VIA AMPERE, MILANO

INTERIORS

In the fog it’s not possible having a clear image of all the things around. The reception is the place of showingour own identity, but not in this case:an opaque glass is the border between the receptionists and the clients. There’s no way of communica-tion except from a small cut in the wall.Slides of light are like signs, a memoryof the streets light in a lonely walkinto the fog.

In the hotel’s self-service restaurant, the food trays become part of the room’s wall, hiding themselves like in a foggy day. The users don’t understand immedi-ately where they are: the just can see other people eating and hear the typ-ical restaurant’s noises without seeing it. Tables and seats are located into metal structures not touching the floor: it’s like eating in the air.

BENEDETTO MARCELLOPROJECT FOR A SQUARE-ARENA USED AS A MULTIETHNIC MARKET AND PLAYGROUND, VIA BENEDETTO MARCELLO, MILANO

INTERIORS

Benedetto Marcello is a multicultural area in Milano. The project aim is to re-design the area creating a square-arena usable from everyone, for sports or cultural events and for the ethinc city market. It becomes the sym

ble of the mosaic of cultures which live in the city. Integration starts from our children playing together without ex-clusions.The differences become games, using symbols and letters in big scale.

CULTURES GATE

Experiencing and promoting LA FLUTE CHAMPAGNE, during events, in the city, thanks to easy to build and to transport modlar panels.

Drinking la flute champagne involves all the senses... touching and hearing pops from the panels covering materi-als, while sight, smell and taste from drinking the wine.

Champagne bubbles popping every-where in the city.
