VII B - Head of Quantum Information Lab: www.quantumlab.it The Quantum Information Lab runs 4 laboratories heavily equipped. The research activities address experiments on quantum information processing with on chip devices, foundations of quantum mechanics from non-locality to quantum contextuality, quantum optics implementation based on the orbital angular momentum of light. The Quantum Information Lab consists of 4 fully equipped rooms, each one with a high quality optical table. These facilities are completed with 3 optical science desks. The labs are equipped with several laser systems, among the others 5 Coherent-Verdi (1 of 18 W, 3 of 10W, 1 of 2W), 3 femtosecond lasers (Coherent-Mira) and 1 regenerative amplifier (Coherent-REGA), more than 40 single photon counting detectors and 3 single photon counting IR detectors, besides electronic equipment. Each laboratory is equipped with advanced optical and mechanical precision instruments, including optical fibre and waveguide coupling, spatial light modulators.
