Erne s twent ou t to th e camp site e a r l y towarm up th e bu i l d i ng and to check onth e r o ad t o th e site. It i s 1 /4 mi lefrom the main road and snow gets deepin t h a t area . The group s t ayed twonights enjoying sk i ing in th e a rea .For the f i r s t time in several yearsNeva and Ernest were ab le to a tten dthe a l l Japan Missionary Convention.I t was held in N iig ata by the c loses tChurch of Chris t missionar ies . Therewere 58 present . I t wasn't an easy MISS IONARY CONVENTIONtrip, though, since i t involved 17-J hours of steady driving and a l-'hour ferry ride.The new tunnel tha t you have hea rd about has only ra i l t r a f f ic , in sol te of thearduous trip they enjoyed fellowship with old and new friends and the pr'^achinq byTom Friskney o f Cincinnati Bible College.Recently a woman called because she was concerned about how to read the Bible. Shewas being influenced by Jehovah's Witnesses. She couldn't understand why i t wasnecessary to put meaning into Bible passages when i t wasn 't obv ious . The next weekshe came to the house and Neva was able to speak to her personally. We encouragedher to read the Bible without the influence of outsiders. I t is God speaking to her.Pray fo r her and many others t h a t are l ike her .

Land prices are risingso it i s t ime to expand i f possible.With this we will say goodbye. We hope and pray that this will find you well and atwork for the Lord. Pray for us and all your missionaries. These are trying times.We apprec ia te your bear ing with us and s up po rtin g t he work here which becomesincreasingly expensive every year.
