    Over the yearf? there have been four things the Japanese havefeared* f i re , earthquake, thunder storms and father . Since we havecome home for furlough thof^e on Hokkaido have experienced a t5rphoon,a mine disas te r and more recent ly an ear thquake. The typhoon a ffected some of the Christians with i t s subsequent flooding. %-douhtedly many of the Christians we know also fe l t the tremors of theearthquake tha t struck^ 100miles southeast of Sapporo.In July we plan to pull our t ra i l e r to Boise, Idaho. We a rr iv ed s afe ly on July l 6 th and weremet a t the C hitose a i r po r t by the preacher and h is wife who took us

    tiring'but rewarding summer for us^Shor t l y a f t e r our a r r i v a l in Japan, we a t t ended the l o c a l Church 'sfamily camp. It was held from Ju lyZk -26. There were 37 people present

    fo r th e camp.An overn ight VBS was held a t thechurch bui ld ing on August 10 th and

    1 1 t h . The r e we r e 18 children f romk inde rga r t en to h igh s choo l and 3teachers , p r e s en t . We d iv ided in tot h ree c l a s s e s . Everyone s l e p t andate at t h e c h u r c h .

    Things were a little uns e t t l e dwhen we r e t u rned . Mainly because o fa l a c k o f commun ic a t i on . It l ookedl i k e th e preache r wanted to l e ave immedia te ly and some o f th e memberst hough t he ought to g ive them a litt l e more t ime . We had a meet ing tog e t h e r wi th all th e members and Mr.Kimura dec ided to s t ay . Thus we w i l lbe working toge the r withhim and h isw ife . P re sen t ly E rne s t preaches the2nd and ^ th Sundays and Mr, Kimurath e 1st and 3J^d. The men o f t h e congrega t ion wi l l fill th e pu lp i t on th e5 th Sundays . Ernes t has th e Bib les tudy on Wedne sd ay even ing and Mr.Kimu r a will h a v e four Bible studies in th e homes o f th e members .

Speaking of snow we wish to thank one church fo r t he i r g i f t of money toward the purchase of a snow blower . Vie have thought of buying onefo r some t ime but have always pu t it o f f . At Neva 's and my age itbecomes increasingly d i f f i cu l t besides being a l i t t l e dangerous toshove l pa th s th rough t h r e e f e e t o r more o f snow.
