Façade Engineering
Façade Engineering
Dear clients and colleagues,
On the first of May in 2008, we sharpened our pencils and began working on a project
that has shaped our office - the Bao’an International Airport in Shenzhen.
Prior to the Bao’an International Airport, Knippers Helbig specialized in the structural
engineering of building framing and specialty façade systems. It was on that day 10
years ago that we began to also provide façade consultation, design, and engineering
services for curtain walls, conventional, and special glazing systems.
We look back on 10 years of challenging projects and thank everybody involved for
the fruitful collaborations during those years. Our services have grown to encompass
early concept design to construction administration for unitized curtain walls, custom
façade systems, double-skin façades as well as parametrically designed building
envelopes, including a wide range of material systems such as aluminum, steel,
timber, structural glazing, textiles, cable walls and many more.
We look forward to many more years of intriguing projects together.

Our Credo
“We do projects of any scale and complexity in Europe, North America and all parts
of the world as long as there are interesting aspects to solve.
We love to work in multidisciplinary teams, with architects, clients and the industry.
We believe that realizing amazing projects requires enthusiasm and personal
involvement of key personnel from the first concept sketch through all design and
construction phases until completion.”
