Remark D or M may be used under the application conditions of F, and D may be used under those of M. 5. Construction, shape and dimensions The construction, shape and dimensions of strainers shall be as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, and the permissible deviation of the thickness a of body shall be %1510

    + .

However, when the calculated value of permissible deviations is 1mm or less, 1mm shall be taken as the permissible deviation. Sufficient attention shall be paid to the construction and the assembly of strainers with high-mesh gauze wires (250 mesh or more or 50 m or less). 6. Materials The materials of oil strainers shall be as follows. a) The materials of body, cover, upper cover of cock, cock plug and O-ring shall be as shown in Figs. 2 and

    4. b) The materials for other parts shall be as shown in Figs. 2 and 4. 7. Tests and inspection Strainers shall be inspected on the following items a) through e) in accordance with the requirements of JIS F 7200. a) Material inspection b) Visual inspection c) Dimensional inspection d) Assembly inspection e) Hydraulic inspection The hydraulic inspection shall be carried out at the following test pressures.

    1) Hydraulic inspection for body 0.6 MPa 2) Leak tests for cock plug 0.44 MPa

The rate of leakage of the cock plug shall be 6 ml mm 25diameter nominal or less per minute.

    8. Designation Strainers shall be designated by title, symbol or JIS number, nominal dia. and type. However, the designation of GP or GR may be omitted at the time of ordering, because the manufacture decides the production method for it.

Example 1. For a strainer with a nominal diameter of 25, used for fuel oil with a temperature 60C or below and using packing in the packing box.

    a) Marine duplex oil strainer 25F -GP b) OD 25F GP (OD: symbol of marine duplex oil strainer, 25: nominal diameter, F:

material of body and O-ring, GP: the type using packing in the packing box) c) JIS F 7202 - 25F - GP

Example 2 For a strainer with a nominal diameter of 50, used for lubricating oil with a temperature of 100C or less and using O-ring in the packing box.

    a) Marine duplex oil strainer 50M OR b) OD 50M OR (OD: symbol of marine duplex oil strainer, 50: nominal diameter, M:

material of body and O-ring, OR: the type using O-ring in the packing box) c) JIS F 7202 50M OR

    9. Marking 9.1 Cover or strainer body The following particulars shall be marked on the surface of the cover or strainer body. (a) Nominal diameter Example: 50 (b) Kind of casting of O-ring and body (c) Manufacturers name or abbreviated trade name 9.2 Strainer body The following particulars shall be marked on the surface of strainer body. a) An arrowhead indicating the direction of flow at the inlet and outlet cock flanges or the surface of body b) Year of manufacture or symbol
