iami roadtrip with the OnDeck team was pretty un, I ew down there (skipping the 28 hours crammed in a minivan)and met up with the guys or a week o sk ating, swimming and more skating. We had sweet hookups rom the TeamManager Aarons dad, who had a timeshare just outside Miami. We ended up with a sweet condo like hotel with 3bedrooms or the 6 o us. Our days usually started at about noon, getting up to go or a swim by the pool, then watchsome videos till about 3 or 4, then go meet up with a couple o the Miami locals, and skate till about 4 or 5am, thenrepeat. We had lit up another spot around the corner rom this one, Tomas and I got pretty bored o it airly quickly, and decided to just skate around ollieing curbs and stu . Tom ound this polejam, so I grabbed my gear, set up, andshot it in a couple o tries. It ended up being one o my avourite photos rom the whole trip.

ot Rocks (5.11b R) is an 80 oot fnger crack located on the Rock Hudson wall o Joshua Tree NationalPark. Jer wanted to nab the onsight o this classic line so we trekked our gear up the short trail inhopes o getting him on it, and not missing our ight later on that day in Los Angeles. Jer not onlycruised it, but did 3 more laps or good measure be ore the alarm sounded and it was time to head westinto the LA smog.

he shot was taken during the flming o a sk i movie called PNW here in Whistler. I'd come across thewall when I was walking through the area be ore the winter. It's pretty well tucked away in a newhousing development up the mountain. I'd seen a ew snowboarders hitting wall rides in some o themovies rom the year be ore, but I knew that skiers hadnt really had a good session o a similar sort yet,or at least not caught on flm anyway. I called up the flm company Theory-3 Media and told themabout it. We rented a generator to get the dramatic nighttime look and it worked out per ect. Austinwas sending it super hard all night and I have shots o him right up against the roo ! But I like his ormin this shot; its my avorite.

As this is in our riends backyard, had all the time I wanted to care ully

set up the whole strobes(two on the le t, one on theright), use my light meter, try lots o diferent perspec-tives, etc. The only hang-upthat day was the tempera-ture: 5 degrees Celsius, windy and overcast(February). This was like the

rst session o the year, sothe riders were keen to do

some good tricks on the reshlyshaped dirt jumps. I used my avou-rite 50-135 2.8 lens and a tripod(which I really rarely use) to get the

raming with the trees right andSte an pulled this comparably hightable top. BINGO!
