December 2016 Newsle韄er
From the President & CEO:
Tis the Season. It is the season for giving.
The Salva埱on Army's Red Ke韄le Campaign is in fullswing and we hope you will pause to consider the less fortunate. As you pass the volunteersringing the bell, stop and drop a dona埱on to helpthose less fortunate.
I personally find those few hours when I get the chance to ring the bells verygra埱fying. It never ceases to amaze me how many people will dig into their pocketsto help their neighbors, but people don't give so much when noone is ringing thebells. Please consider calling the Salva埱on Army at 263‐8272 to volunteer to ringthe bells.
The annual Two Weeks of Love is underway. TanTara's Hawkeye hauler is located inthe Hy‐Vee parking lot through Friday, December 2, where they are freezing forfood. Star埱ng Monday, December 5, the Hawkeye hauler moves to Kreiger's wherethey will be collec埱ng toys during Toy埱me. Thanks to Hy‐Vee, Kreigers, TanTara,Vintage Sound and KWPC for all they do to help their neighbors in our community.
Another opportunity to make a difference for our community is to support the Y'sefforts to raise funds for their expansion. Our Y is unlike any other in Iowa. Theservices they provide and their efforts to support all of the members of ourcommunity makes the Musca埱ne Community YMCA a vital part of Musca埱ne. Theirefforts to be able to meet the needs of our community as we move forward isdependent on their ability expand the facility. The Y has done a great job raising themoney necessary to meet the need, but they need some help to cross the line. Recently an anonymous donor has stepped up to offer a match of up to $500,000.
What a great opportunity for all of us to get behind this important project. Pleasemake your pledge today and encourage others to do the same. Please plan to joinus December 15th at the Y to help us reach the goal ‐‐ more to come on this specialevent.
