Technical Drawings provided by In 1943, the JS-2 heavy tank was developed by the SKB-2 (the Special Design Bureau No. 2), headed by zh. Ya. Kotin, to oppose the German Tiger I heavy tank. It had a large turret armed with an A-19 122mm gun Model 1931/37, with 120mm glacis armor and 160mm turret armor, the weight was increased to 46 tons, almost the same as the German Panther tank. The JS-2 was produced by the Chelyabinskogo Kirovski Works (ChKZ Zavod Nr. 100). The JS-2 was issued to Heavy Tank Regiments each consisting of 21 tanks, used as heavy tank destroyers or to assault fortifications.In the spring of 1944, the improved version called the JS-2m was introduced into production. The self-propelled gun JSU-122, based on the JS-2 Stalin II chassis, went into production in late 1943. A total of 4,075 JSU-122's and JSU-152's were produced up to May, 1945. It featured the A-19S 122mm gun in a fixed hull. In- dependent heavy mechanized gun regiments were formed consisting of 21 JSU-122's and JSU-152's. In the latter stages of WWII, the JSU-122S was introduced with the improved D-25S 122mm gun. • Correct Method for Applying Decals1 Clean model surface with wet cloth.

2 1 Cut each design out of decal sheet and dip them in warm water for

20 seconds.:i Check with finger tip if design is loose on base paper. If so, place it

on proper position on model and slide off base paper leaving de-

sign on model.4 Move design to exact position with wet finger tip. and push out ex-

cess water and air bubbles under decal with soft cotton cloth.

: 5 When decals get dry, wipe off with wet cloth excess glue left

around decals.

1 Nettoyer la surface du modele avec un chiffon humide.!• Decouper chaque decalcomanie de sa fenille de papier et la

plonger dans I'eau tiede pendant vingt secondes..3 Verifier avec le bout du doigt s le dessin se detache de son

papier-support. Si oui, le positionner a I'endroit choisi sur le modeteet retirer doucement le papier-suppon^.

•* Positionner la decalcomanie correctement avec un doigt humide eteponger tout restant d'eau et toutes bulles d'air sous la de-calcomanie avec un chiffon doux.

3 Quand les decalcomanies sont seche, ditacher le colle autour desdecalcomanies avec un chiffon humide.

• Modo esatt per applicare le decalcomanieI Pulire la superfiae del modello con un panno umido.~i Ritagliare ctascun disegno dal foglio decalcomanie e immergerli in

acqua caida per 20 secondi,3 Controiiare col polpastrelio se il disegno e allentato sulla base di

carta. In questo caso. apphcarlo nella esatta posizione sul modellofacendolo scivolare dalla base di carta.i Spostare il disegno nella esatta posizione mediante il polpastrelio

umido, quindi toghere I'acqua in eccesso e le bolle d'aria sotto ladecalcomania mediante un panno soffice di cotone.

? Quando la decalcomanie sono asciutte. togliere con un pannoumido I'eccesso di colia intorno aila decalcomania stessa.

SU-1 52-A heavy self-propelled gun with a fixed superstructure armed with the ML-20S152mm howitzer. The KV-1S chassis was used. It was developed as a tank destroyerprimarily to oppose the German Tiger 1.

JSU-1 22-The JSU-122 had the A-l 9S 122mm gun mounted in a closed and fixed fightingcompartment on JS-2 chassis. It was used primarily as a tank destroyer.

JSU-1 30-A prototype only, the JSU-130 was equipped with a 130mm naval gun. It usedthe same hull as the JSU-122 and JSU-152.

JSU-1 52-The JSU-152 was the successor to the SU-152. It used the JS-2 chassis rather thanthe KV-1S. Widely used as a tank and bunker destroyer.

JSU-1 22S-Used only in the late stages of WWII the JSU-122S was re-armed with the D-25S122mm gun mounted with a new mantlet.

JSU-1 22BM-Developed to combat the new German Tiger II, the JSU-122BM was armedwith the longer barreled BL-7 122mm gun. It was not accepted, as the normal JS-2 and JSUself-propelled gun could take out the Tiger II.

JSU-1 22E-A heavy armored experimental type of the JSU-122.

JSU-1 52BM-Developed to the same purpose as the JSU-122BM, it was equipped withthe long barrel BL-8 152mm gun. It was also not accepted.

JSU-1 30 ITlOd. 1 945-This self-propelled gun was based on the JS-3 chassis. It fea-tured a 130mm gun in a closed hull. It saw limited production.

JSU-1 52 mod. 1 945-Utilizing the same hull as the JSU-130 mod 1945, this vehicle

was armed with the D-1S 152mm howitzer. It saw also limited production.

OblGkt 268-The last self-propelled gun mounted on a heavy tank chassis. It featured a152mm gun with a semi-automatic loading system on the T-10 chassis. This vehicle weighedin at 50t.

JSU-1 52K-An improved variant of the JSU-152 with the T-10 type engine deck, side stor-age and commanderscupola. It was produced from 1956 to 1964. It was used solely by theSoviet Army, with none exported.

JSU-1 52M-The JSU-152M was a modification of the wartime JSU-152. The V-2-JS enginewas replaced by the V-54 engine as used in the T-54. A light was added to the front of thefighting compartment. The modifications began in 1959 through 1964. It was expoih •< 1 1 < >Middle East countries.
