Principal’s message Welcome to Dease Lake School FEBRUARY, 2016 Dease Lake School Dear Parents, Caregivers, As Term one draws to a close our secondary students are busy studying for exams and catching up on all assignments. Midterm exams are January 29th and February 1st. Next week (February 2-4th) some of our grade 9-12 students attending our second Culture Campout at the Gnat Pass camp on Highway 37. Mr. Lagace, Mr. Curtis Rattray and Ms. Peeters will be leading the campout. The primary intention of the camp is to provide stu- dents with opportunities to participate in on the land ancestral experiences. Elementary students have begun sewing and art with Penny Louie and Nikita Tashoots, from Tahltan Health on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Nikita is also starting after school ac- tivities from 3:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. February is Anti- Bullying Month and students are learning more about how we can all make a difference in creating a positive school culture. Yesterday, RCMP Sergeant, Steve Woodcox talked with our grade 7-8 class about bullying and he will be visiting other classrooms during the month. I have attached the draft calendar for 2016-17 school year. Please note: Our start date is September 6, 2017 September 28, 29, 30 are to allow teachers to attend the Yukon’s teacher conference. Dear Parents, Caregivers,

As Term one draws to a close our secondary students are busy studying for exams and

catching up on all assignments. Midterm exams are January 29th and February 1st.

Next week (February 2-4th) some of our grade 9-12 students attending our second Culture

Grad will be hosting hot lunches every Tuesday, and P.A.C hot lunches will be served

every Thursday
