Porsche Centre Saskatchewan 911 Grand Tour
On Tuesday, May 31st, 48 Porsche enthusiasts gathered toexperience the remarkable performance of the new 911models. The 911 Grand Tour is a nation-wide drive eventorganized by Porsche Cars Canada; which travels acrossCanada, showcasing the newest flagship car.
Porsche Centre Saskatchewan hosted three unique waves ofdriving tours throughout the day. Each wave featured eightbrand new 911’s, each with something different and veryspecial to offer.
The experience began at the Porsche Centre Saskatchewandealership and started with a short tour through the city ofSaskatoon. A driver change was made in the 33rd Street CO-OP parking lot… and all eyes were on this group. It thenproceeded to the Wyant Group Raceway where all were thenable to really experience the thrill of driving a new 911 on theracetrack. Slaloms and gates were set, to add ‘just a little’excitement to the driving experience! Each group thenreturned to the city, making one final driver switch on aboulevard in Saskatoon’s west end, before returning toPorsche Centre Saskatchewan.
Each driver who experienced the exhilaration of the 911Grand Tour left with a huge smile on their face and greatmemories. (How very cool to say you’ve driven a brand newPorsche 911 on a racetrack?!)

Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System Now Available in the USA and Canada
Porsche is responding to the growing demand for a built-innavigation device for vintage Porsche sports cars with itsPorsche Classic Radio Navigation System. Following itssuccessful market launch in Europe in February 2015, thePorsche Classic Radio Navigation System is now available inthe USA and Canada.
This purpose-built unit combines a style reminiscent of theoriginal equipment radios in these cars with the benefits ofmodern digital technology. It fits perfectly into the DIN-1 slotused for decades in Porsche sports cars and is operated bymeans of two knobs, six discreetly integrated buttons, and atouch-sensitive 3.5-inch display. The new Classic RadioNavigation System also comes prewired with a lead for anoptional SiriusXM® satellite radio tuner.
With its black surface and two authentic styles of knobs (bothsupplied as standard), the Classic Radio Navigation Systemblends harmoniously into the dashboard of classic Porschemodels. It bears the Porsche logotype and is suitable forsports car generations between the first 911 from the 1960s tothe last air-cooled 911 (993 series, MY1998), as well as the912, 914, 924, 928, 944, and 968 models.
The Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System comes withkey features of today’s systems. In addition to smartphoneconnection via Bluetooth, the unit has low-interference radioreception, precise navigation, two USB ports, and interfacesfor a variety of external music sources, controllable from thedisplay. In addition, the Classic radio has an internalmicrophone and an external microphone. The integratedamplifier delivers 4x45 watts and can be connected eitherdirectly to the loudspeakers or to the original sound systemusing an optional adapter cable.
Exclusively developed and adapted for classic Porsche sportscars The Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System has beenexclusively developed for Porsche Classic sports cars. Radioreception, for instance, has been optimized for the built-inantenna supplied during original production (which is generallyonly a single telescoping rod).
The device’s operating concept is based on PorscheCommunication Management (PCM). It has undergoneextensive testing at the Technical University in Munich toverify user friendliness, and numerous trial trips were made inthe USA and Canada to test country-specific navigation.Drivers have a choice of arrows and two-dimensional or three-dimensional maps to display the route, and the maps arestored on a microSD card with eight gigabytes of memory.The new Classic Radio Navigation System is availableimmediately from authorized Porsche dealers.
The Porsche Classic division of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG isresponsible for supplying parts for vehicles generallyproduced more than ten years ago. Its services cover allaspects of technical literature as well as the supply andreproduction of original parts, and even extend to completerestoration. The company is expanding its international dealerand service network to around 100 Porsche Classic Partnersfor optimal support of classic cars. Customers can expect awide range of Porsche Classic services from Porsche ClassicPartners. Through this measure, Porsche has integrated thecare of modern classic and vintage cars in an innovativeservice concept, closely linking Porsche tradition and Porscheinnovation.
