You find out most about a company from its employees. In order to provide an insight into eyevis’ history and philosophy for you, we talked with Heiko Schaich, the CTO and founder of eyevis.

EV: You are the manager of eyevis since its founding 15 years ago. What do you think about when you look back?

HS: I see four ambitious men with great plans. We put everything on one card. Nobody knew how the market would change but we were confident. We were really enthusiastic and we didn’t doubt: eyevis will become a great success!

EV: Did you expect what happened throughout the years?

HS: We wanted it to work but we didn’t really expect it. Back then we had com-panies only in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today we have over 70 em- ployees in Germany alone, which is quite remarkable. Furthermore, we have com- panies, offices and dealers all over the world. Only recently, Abu Dhabi and New Delhi were added.

EV: What is the reason for the develop-ment of a small company situated in a placid town like Reutlingen in Baden-Württemberg to a worldwide operating company?

HS: This is due to our employees, which give their best to eyevis continuously. Everyone in this company is convinced of what we do. Our products are our passion. Of course

there are also good times for technological improvement. Just think about what was possible to do with monitors and projectors 15 years ago – and then think about where we are now! But we didn’t forget were we come from. That’s why it is still important to us to offer reasonable quality, made in Germany. Our production is situated here in Reutlingen.

EV: Do you also train people?

HS: Of course! We even increased the number of apprentices in the last years. We could engage all of the apprentices. That’s what we are really proud of. It’s nice to offer future prospects to young, ambitious people. For us it is great if they have been trained at eyevis since they know what’s important to us. They get back the trust which we put into them. And even though they are quite young, they have a remarkable expertise after they have been trained by us.

EV: Did other parts of the company suffer from the crisis in the last years?

HS: Fortunately, eyevis wasn’t affected. Quite the contrary was the case actually: Our business even developed furtherand we could engage many new employees in this time.

EV: How can you explain this?

HS: I think this is due to the innovations of the last years. We developed a lot of new things and integrated recent techno-logies into our products. Our range of

products is increasing continuously, and the demand for them is high. We also discovered absolutely new markets, for example simulation and virtual reality.

EV: Will the market develop this rapidly in the future?

HS: I hope so. We are ready for it. eyevis always adapted well to the current situation in all these years. Our flexibility pays off. If I could decide, everything would stay the same. New ideas, new customers, new employees. Basically I still feel like then, 15 years ago: I’m ambitious and I have enormous pleasure in what I’m doing.

The market in the Middle East is still in- creasing. Our presence at local exhibitions, like this year’s Intersec in Dubai, was success-ful and the visitors showed great interest in our products. Since we opened the bureau of eyevis in Abu Dhabi, we can now serve our customers from the United Arab Emi-rates, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman and Yemen more directly. Along with the distribution, our service network in the Middle East was also strengthened. Together with the employees for conception and development we can install the different products at their final destination earmarked and efficiently.

Madrid – Spain became world cup cham-pion, and for this, we admire them and congratulate cordially! What we can do better, however, are large scale systems. Our systems are available, for example, in Spain with the best quality “made in Ger-many.” With this you can install high-quality surveillance systems in your controlling room, as is already done with the surveillance of a railway line from Madrid to Barcelona.

Good news for the Indian market: eyevis is now situated on-site in New DelhiFor some time, eyevis has invested into the Indian market: The demand for our systems is great and is increasing continuously. The demand is especially huge in the areas of energy and traffic. But eyevis can now offer you the entire service in fields such as virtual reality and simulation. With the opening of the bureau in New Delhi, we now have our employees on-site in order to serve our Indian customers in the best way. India is famous for being an important place for new technologies and advanced IT. The continuous change within the last few years has proven that the Indian market is always strong, and must be taken seriously. In order to offer the full support, we assembled a new team existing of professionals who are specialized particularly for the Indian market. From New Delhi, we can accompany both familiar and new customers in all the stages of their project, from the idea to the installation and its maintenance service.

“The developments in India and the ensuing opening of our bureau in New Delhi make us proud. The Indian market belongs to one of the fastest-growing markets in Asia. There is a big need for our systems. We want to show responsibility and thus we invested into this promising market!” says Eric Hénique, chief of marketing and sales at eyevis.

With our consultants and service employees in New Delhi, we are prepared for the future. We are curious about what eyevis will expect in this country and hope for further custo-mers and new challenges. The high quality of eyevis products, which has proven its worth in many other countries worldwide, means permanent reliability, cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness.

For a long time, eyevis has worked as a partner with the racing teams of Schnabl Engineering. The racing drivers gain victories with their high-performance cars at the Porsche Carrera Cupand Porsche Supercup regularly.

At the joint Incentive Events, customers had the opportunityto drive with a real racing car.

The big customer event “Taxi Drive” at the Hockenheimring on April 30th, 2010, left a permanent impression. The passengershad to be very brave due to the high speed, which a Porsche GT3 can reach in the Carrera Cup Version on the racing course. Although the racing drivers drove excellently and securely, most of the passengers felt quite queasy. This experience was really impressive, and we from eyevis want to thank our customers for this great day. Particularly, we want to thank the team of Schnabl Engineering, and especially the racing drivers who showed all visitors highly impressive performances. With the professionals from Schnabl Engineering, we not only share the love of technical perfection, but also the thrill and the enthusiasm for new challen-ges. Indeed, we have to admit, racing drivers act a little bit braver in their everyday-life, but our products haven’t had a motor-break-down yet!

For the customer area of the formula 1 team Red Bull Racing at the Hockenheimring a video wall comprising 3x3 EYE-LCD4600-SN-V2 was installed. The whole weekend, from July 8-10, 2010, everything that happened on the racing course was broadcasted live on this wall.

This way, the visitors of the racing teams were also able to follow the race on Sunday on a huge screen in the highest quality. Even the German star and aspirant for the world championship title,

Sebastian Vettel, came around to the hospitality area.

We from eyevis are proud to support such a successful team. The enthusiasm, which everybody at felt at the Hockenheimring, espe-cially the members of the Red Bull Racing team, electrified all VIPs.

Everybody was really excited watching the racing drivers driving round after round on EYE-LCD monitors. Eventually, they success-fully made the 4th and the 5th place in the competition.

At the customer event of the BMW team during the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in Brands Hatch, the orga-nizers trust the popular displays of eyevis.

The installed video wall consisted of 2x2 EYE-LCD4600-SN-V2 in full HD.

At the event in Oschersleben, which you can also see in the pictures, displays such as EYE-LCD4600M/W-HD were used.

Compared with other conventional displays, the new displays of eyevis, which were used at all the races of the WTCC, have a crucial advantage: The bezel between the particular monitors within the construction measures only 7.3 mm, which is extra- ordinary.

The eye is most important to experience virtual reality, simula-tions and multi-media presentations. We believe what we see. That’s why it is so important to show what we see in a veryrealistic way. The problem with projections is, however, thatdistortions and irritations in the background may distract theviewer from a realistic experience.

That’s why we try to come as close to reality as possible in this field. An aviator, for example, learns how to behave in an emer-gency situation in a simulator. This and similar situations need a technical solution, which is reliable and close to reality. We from eyevis have already worked on these problems for some time.

Together with the Max-Planck-Institute for biological cybernetics, we took the challenge to develop something which would defy all these problems. Now, we can proudly say that we successfully worked it out!

With the new generation of the openWARP2 product family, eyevis is the first and only producer that has put a system for geometrical correction in real time on the market. The concept was developed further by the technicians of eyevis so that it is now also available for professional usage. With the openWARP2 technology systems for multi-media presentations, video tasks and virtual reality can be realised conveniently and flexibly.

Experience multi-media in a new dimension

Page 9: eyevis - eyevision 09/2010 EN

No matter whether they are connected alone or in series, the projectors realizeand correct flatness imperfections as well as distortions in real time. This, for example, happens with a simulator with a bent pro-jection surface. With openWARP2, the ex-perience of the simulation becomes even more realistic since the shown surroundings are corrected and still projected with ahigh resolution.

Additionally, openWARP2 proves to be a very flexible solution if you want to com-bine it with another system. Thanks to the innovative “Resolution pass-through tech-nology,” the device can be easily integrated into any other system environment without the necessity to configure the desired reso-lution. Various possibilities for colour and brightness corrections allow for a perfect alignment of multi-channel installations. Additional functionalities, such as colour-shading, alpha-masks, and pixelaccurate blending offer a great possibility to realise multi-channel projections.

openWARP2 is the first-choice solution for optimising single projections, stereo pro-

jections, or combined multi-channel pro-jections. Any intended image distortion can be realised. In addition, the device is ableto align distortions in real time due to an integrated real time mode. The configura-tion is transmitted via an USB flashdrive onto the device.

With the optional Communication Board, another serial or LAN interface is available.

Furthermore, openWARP2 is a very cost-effective solution since the customer only pays for the numbers of channels he or she really needs, and the cost-benefit ratio is outstanding. openWARP2 can be combined with any projection device and image generator on the market. With the ESP-series, eyevis moreover offers various pro-fessional projection solutions, especiallyfor simulations.

Convince yourself of the perfection of the second generation of the openWARP tech-nology. Let yourself get carried away by an endless realistic experience, which is beyond comparison. Get a step closer to reality with your projection!

Our high-performance projectors from the ESP-series, which are famous for their excellent image quality, are based on the technology of the EC cube series. You can choose between conventional UHP lamps and the new LED technology. All components in the projectors are desi-gned for non-stop operation. Due to the solid metal body, the device can also be used for motion simulators where high vibration may occur.

The processor itself is also produced very solidly and is shock-resistant. It is merely25.4 x 21.0 x 7.0 cm small and can be installed without any problems, even if there is only minimal space available. It runs continuously without interruptions and always with the highest efficiency. Additionally, it runs noise-reduced.

The new LED backlight LCD monitors – colour brilliance which keeps its promise for a long time

Our EYE-LCD product series meets every desire due to its diversity. The expectations of our customers are very different, but the EYE-LCD displays meet every requirement. Oftentimes, the space where the large screen system should be installed is mini-mal. That’s why it is important to create a screen that is as large as possible without taking up too much space.

This can be done easily due to the different sizes of the EYE-LCD displays and their modular design, as well as their minor depth. We have now developed the good and reliable properties of our EYE-LCD series even further. Just recently, displays also became available as LED backlight LCD monitors. With special LED lamps, which are very slim in order to fit into the flat bodies, you receive LCD displays that are even more colourful and luminous.

The LED lamps have a lifespan of at least 60,000 hours – this equals 6 years of con-stant operation! At no time will the inten-sity be lost. The encasements are builtsolidly and do not contain any plastic parts, which is standard practice at eyevis.Furthermore, they can be combined easily with other components. The monitors work without ventilators or any other moving parts, which allows them to operate soundlessly and evenly. At first, the EYE-LCD-5500LHD and the EYE-LCD-4600LHD will extend our product line. You’re welcome to convince yourself of the remarkable efficiency of our products in one of our showrooms worldwide. The brightness of the colours and lines are fascinating, no matter whether it is a portrait or a landscape - even though the overall depth of the device amounts to less than 5 centimetres.

) Extra long lifetime due to LED lamps) Produced environmentally friendly) Low power consumption) Everlasting high colour brilliance) Highest effi ciency even if continuously running) Space-saving installation) Special, very small LED-lamps) Narrow bezels) User-friendly) No plastic housing) Various inputs) Low weight

Page 11: eyevis - eyevision 09/2010 EN

Along with the two full-HD displays already mentioned, thereare also displays with very narrow bezels available. These areparticularly suitable for the installation of large projection screens.

As you can see in the picture below, the new LED backlight LCD monitors are already being used in a television studio. Due to their colour fastness, these displays are very suitable for the application in television studios, either as single monitors or as a modular wall. They run steadily and quietly, but if a ventilator was integrated, then this would not be the case.

The advantage of the single monitors of a video wall is that they are absolutely colour-true and due to this, no modification ofsingle components needs to be expected. You can rely on acoherent colour with a long lifetime, since the single displayscalibrate automatically.

They consume much less power than comparable monitors with current lamps or CCFL tube lights, and they don’t contain any mercury. Due to this, you save 60,000 hours worth of electricity! If you are interested in our new LED backlight LCD monitors, feel free to contact us at any time.

Whether in a television studio, in a security control centre, oras single monitors – with the new LCD backlight LCD monitors you always play it safe: They guarantee safety at work, have superb longevity, have a great efficiency of the illuminantsand are environmentally friendly. The products of eyevis are products with responsibility – in every respect.

DLP® cubes with an LED light source – Reliable product, new technology

As the first producer on the market, eyevis launches the rear-projection cubes with LED light source based on DLP technology for professional video wall systems.

The DLP LED technology always offers you the highest picturequality due to the projection of static content. Furthermore, eyevis offers you the greatest variety of products within this field.

DLP cubes provide the only possibility to realise practically “seamless” video walls for challenging and continuously running applications in the control room as well as in the presentation area.

Due to their outstanding projection of colour and brightness, they are the best solution for large screen systems for challenging applications. With the new projection-engines based on LED tech-nology, eyevis solved a huge problem, namely the relatively short longevity of the projection lamps.

eyevis uses flat LEDs with a lifespan of more than 60,000 hours (more than six years if they are continuously running) for everyprimary colour.

There are no wearing parts like colour wheels and other moving parts integrated, which makes a service necessary less often. Additionally, the cubes are much more environmentally friendly compared to other lamp-based systems.

Due to their longevity and high picture quality, LED cubes are also suitable for applications in the broadcasting field. In this field, a major criterion for the choice of this system is its reliable, stable and highly efficient functionality in a 24/7 operating mode. The picture quality will never worsen. Instead, you will always see the bestpicture, no matter from which angle.

This is due to the excellent resolution as well as the automaticalignment of the colour and brightness parameters. No matter whether you use smaller or larger video walls – with eyevis, you have always chosen the most professional solution for your tele-vision studio.

In order to get the best control, eyevis fitted the controlcentre for traffic leading out with high-performance displays. In May 2010, Cape Town Executive Mayor, Alderman Dan Plato, officially opened the city’s R160 million state-of-the-art Transport

Management Centre (TMC): the first inte-grated public transport, traffic and security management centre in South Africa. It is also one of the first of its kind in the world. The TMC, a 2010 FIFA World Cup™ legacy project, brings together services such as freeway management, urban traffic control, transport information centre, traffic services, and metro police. The control centre, which was established in order to meet and exceed global standards, offers the possibility to let these projects function side-by-side in one operational environment. The main task of the control centre is to avoid traffic congestions and to provide the road users with reliable and updated information, so they can always choose the best route.

Automotive history meets technological future – an extraordinary large projection screen is a recent addition to the exhibition at the Mercedes- Benz museum.

To visit the Mercedes-Benz museum is an exciting experience, no matter how old you are or where you come from. On the tour through the museum, which shows you the whole history of the automobile, you can find something very special at the finish: On level 0 there is the area “fascinating technology,” which tells everything about the production of a car, about its technologies and about possibilities for the future.

In this exciting part of the museum the new media wall of eyevis was erected with a surface of about 13 m x 2,5 m. This consists of 48 x EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2 LC displays with a 46’’ screen diagonal and WXGA resolution (1.366 x 768 px). These displays are built into a stacking frame.

This special installation was a real challenge for us: The video wall is placed immediately behind a strong glass front, which should not be removed due to practical and aesthetic reasons. This, how-ever, makes it very difficult to clean the surface or to fix the video wall in case of necessary servicing. That’s why we had to find another solution: It must have a moveable substructure.

Eyevis developed a special mechanism for this project. The projec-tion screen moves on a rail and can be activated by a crank handle. With this, the whole projection screen can be shifted without any

distortion and deformation. The displays and installation sites are especially suitable for such a task since they are very strong and buckling-resistant, due to the fact that they are completely made out of steel.

The 48 displays of the video wall are linked with computers, which are in a separate room. A group of every 2 x 2 displays on the projection wall gets DVI-video signals with full HD-solution (1920 x 1080) from every computer through fiberglass converters.

Furthermore, a scaler is integrated into the displays. This way, display details can be enlarged from the inducted signals. For this, nothing more is required than to put the signal forward into the four displays in each group and to configure every display due to its position in a block out of four.

That is how the Mercedes-Benz museum got a huge LCD projec-tion screen with outstanding daylight efficiency. The team of eyevis solved the problems that the spatial condition brought about with an innovative construction. Continuously operating, the installation fascinates the visitors of the Mercedes-Benz museum due to its largeness and its high quality displays.

EnBW Transportnetze AG (TNG) operates the transmission network in Baden- Württemberg. This network comprises around 3,650 kilometres of 380,000 and 220,000-volt lines, which are connected to the regional 110,000-volt distribution networks via 81 transformers. The TNG transmission network is integrated in the German and European interconnection system via 36 coupling points. At the borders of the control areas, it is directly connected to the networks within Germany as well as those in France, Austria and Switzerland.

The main control centre is situated in Wend-lingen, not far from the regional capital city of Stuttgart. The engineers at the main con-trol centre in Wendlingen not only control the very high-voltage network of TNG, but also constantly monitor energy flows within Europe. The close connections between the transmission networks of the individual European countries and their neighbours support the stability and reliability of the power supply system and form the basis for the cross-border trading of electricity throughout Europe.

The main control centre in Wendlingen, near Stuttgart, is one of the most modern

in Europe. It is in action around the clock, managing the transmission network of TNG and maintaining a balance between elec- tricity generation and consumption in the control area of TNG. This responsibility is based on the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG). In 2009, EnBW started a modernisa-tion of the entire control room installation. This process was finished in spring 2010. Part of this modernisation was the replace-ment of the existing video wall system. The new central display in the control room is now a 8.4 x 3.15-metre large video screen consisting of 18 rear-projection cubes from eyevis. Each of the cubes, type EC-70-SXGA+, provides a 70” screen diagonal and SXGA+ resolution (1400 x 1050 pixel). Thanks to their seamless design, the cubes can be assembled to video walls with almost invisible gaps. The Auto-Colour-Tracking (ACT) functionality guarantees a stable image representation over all cubes through a permanent measurement and alignment of the image parameters.

The video wall is controlled by an eyevis Netpix graphic controller. The Netpix pro-vides all necessary inputs for the connected signal sources and displays them on a com-bined desktop surface on the cubes. For redundancy purposes, there is a second

controller integrated in the system which runs parallel in hot-standby mode. If the main controller fails, the second takes over the functions in the system. For the management of the sources and video signals, there is also the eyecon wall management software installed. In the turn of the projects, several obstacles arose, caused by the novelty of the pro-ducts and the high requirements of the customer towards the system. Thanks to the dedicated commitment of our engineers and technicians to find a suitable solution, we were able to realise the project within a short period of time and were able to handover a smoothly-running and redun-dant system to the customer.

Technologies of eyevis control highly sensitive banking One of the biggest financial institutions in Germany, which belongs to one of the biggest in Europe at the same time, re- ceived an installation from eyevis at its headquarters in Frankfurt on the Main recently.

For controlling their network, this bank, which has to deal with the important and secret data of 15 million private and cor-porate clients, trusts the systems of eyevis. Trust actions around the world network based come together in the control centre in Frankfurt on the Main.

In this control centre large screen displays are essential. After working with cube systems of other manufacturers, they de-cided to replace them with eyevis rear- projection cubes in March 2010. Up to this point, the other systems were based on cubes with lamps.

In contrast to these cubes, the novel rear-projection cubes of eyevis consist of LEDs. This light design with rear-projection com-ponents is integrated in the cubes of eyevis for the first time worldwide. These cubes do not contain wearing parts such as colour wheels or projection lamps anymore. Professionals of the bank decided on the

LED-cubes, type EC-50-LXT-CP with 50’’ screen diagonal, a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels (XGA), and a CrossPrism surface. 50 cubes have been assembled to six video walls (five walls consisting of 4 x 2 cubes and one wall consisting of 5 x 2 cubes).

Furthermore, the Auto-Colour-Tracking (ACT) functionality guarantees a stable image representation over all cubes through a constant measurement and alignment of the image parameters.

The video wall is controlled by an eyevis Netpix controller. The Netpix provides all necessary inputs for the connected signal sources and displays them on a combined desktop surface on the cubes. The controllers are 5 NPX-3008R-G2.3 and NPX-3012RG2.3. For the management of the sources and video signals, there is also the eyecon V4 Premium Wall Management Software installed.

) eyevis Cases – transports Metropolitans De BarCelona

The Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) established a new control centre, which is three times bigger than the one they already had. Furthermore, only the latest technologies were installed. The employees’ tasks in this control centre include supervising and controlling the tramway network in Barcelona. According to the recent increasing growth of the city, experts expect an increase of the tramway network and the tram stops of up to 80% in the next few years. The new system is designed to manage this easily, with not only the conventional tramlines but also new ones, which operate unmanned. The control center is the most important part of this plan and therefore it needs to be pro-vided with an exceptional controlling system. Everything that is important for the proper function of the tramway network is controlled from here. The control room is operating24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In case of an emergency, everything must be ready for useat once. Everything is controlled by the control centre: Not only daily operations but also unforeseen circumstances, even if there is only a little change of the timetable.

In order to meet every requirement, the control center was equipped with the latest tech-nologies, such as a comprehensive video surveillance system. On video walls, which consist of 2x2 and 3x2 67’’ cubes of eyevis, you can watch the regular traffic recorded by over 3,100 cameras. On a second identical video wall consisting of eyevis cubes, the video feeds of the fully automatic tramlines of another 3,200 cameras are broadcasted in real time. In the con-trol centre, five 52’’ TFT screens of eyevis were installed. With these, the signals of more than 6,000 cameras could be transferred. In addition, eyevis provided the appropriate Wall Management Software.

Broadcasting - and especially live broadcasting - is a delicate issue. The technical components always need to work properly, in every situation. Additionally, they should look good and project the image excellently. Just as the EYE-LCD displays of eyevis always do.

The television channel TVN24 from Warsaw, which belongs to one of the biggest private television stations, built a television studio especially for the election night. Interviews and discussions with politicians and other referents as well as the extrapolations of the election were shown in the live broadcast.

Because a second round of voting was necessary, the studio was used again. The equip-ment of the studio particularly consisted of projection screens which were constructed out of EYE-LCD-4600-SN-V” LCD displays with 46’’ screen diagonals and very narrow bezels. Each of the six walls consisted of five displays, which were stacked for a vertical image.

Additionally, a further projection wall was installed consisting of 2x5 displays for the larger display of live streams, extrapolations and correspondents. The displays proved to be very reliable for this application in television studios. Due to the high quality of the colours of the projection, nothing gets lost through the cameras. No matter from which angle the scene is recorded: You always get clear and true-colour images. The EYE-LCD-4600-SN-V2 LCD displays really did a great job during the live broadcasts.

) eyevis – FroM a CustoMer‘s point oF view

Our ultimate ambition is to satisfy our customers, since we produce products that they use daily and that should make their work easier. In order to develop such pro-ducts it is very important to get feedback from our customers. In this way we get to know what they need and how we can fulfill this need.

In this issue special thanks goes to Mr. Simon Kozamernik, project manager at RAP Ing. in Slovenia, who trusts the EYE-LCD-4600-SN-V2 in his company and answers our question.

You have used EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2 displays for quite a while. How do you operate with these in your company?

We use the LCDs in our control room. They support the supervision and control system. But I could imagine using the displays in other areas, too. Due to its mo-dular construction the EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2 can be used practically every-where. The monitor proved to be the best solution so far, especially for the installation of video walls, no matter whether it was for multi-media presentations or for the use in a control room.

Another advantage is the flexible con- struction and the easy made set-up and tear-down especially in mobile operations.

What do you like particularly best about our displays?

What comes to my mind first is the very small body. The distance from screen-to-screen adds up to less than one centimetre. The images are not separated by a distrac-ting line. Due to this, we could easily decide on the EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2.

Secondly, I think about the integrated matrix splitter. This proved to be very useful when displaying data from a laptop, a DVD player, a camera or other DVI. With this integrated solution we don’t need any further hard-ware. Just “plug and play.”

We also favour the flexible construction. No matter whether the monitor stands alone or is in a horizontal or an upright position – it is always applicable. Combined with the eyevis NPX graphic controller, we think the EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2 is the best solution for control rooms.

The LCD offers a good alternative to DLP cubes. With its thin body, the well-thought-out ventilation system and further functions like a screen saver, you can use it 24-hours a day without any problems. If you have neither enough space in your control room for DLP cubes, nor enough space to fix it when a service is needed, the EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2 proves to be a very good solution.

At last I want to mention the very good price performance ratio. Today this appears to be one of the most important criteria concerning new acquisitions.Furthermore, there are also some already

installed features, which can just not be offered by other manufacturers, for example the “Digital Loop Through”, the internal scaler and the split controller. With other manufacturers I need to buy this auxiliary equipment apart from the rest.

What would you change at the EYE- LCD-4600SN-V2?

Actually, I wouldn’t change much. Only the low memory capacity of the first generation LCDs annoyed us a little bit. Due to this, we sometimes had problems with playing videos. This problem was solved in the revised version, so we can’t criticize anything actually.

At present we use the monitor version with halogen lamps. Now we’re really looking forward to try the new monitors with LED-lamps.This seems to be even more interesting, environment friendly and definitely more efficient.

Could you give us further examples how to use the EYE-LCD-4600SN-V2? And how was the performance?

We used the LCD for very different applica-tions, for example for ‘Digital Signage’. We also used it in the control room for 24-hour operations as well as for solutions in television studios. The monitor proved to be practical, well-thought-out and highly efficient in every way.
