1. Describe one of the main characters of the story.

2. The setting is where and when a story takes place. Describe the setting Tuck Everlasting.

Example - Tuck Everlasting is set during August in or around 1880 (the Epilogue is set in 1950). The name of the village which some of the action takes place in is called Treegap. The woods near the town is where a great deal of the book takes place.

3. How do the Tucks know that the water from the spring is the reason for their eternal life?

Example - The Tucks know that the spring is the reason for their eternal life because the only one who did not drink from it was their cat and the cat died. Also, when they returned to the spring twenty years after drinking from it, it had not changed.

1. Imagine that you read in the newspaper tomorrow that a magic spring was found. What good things and bad things might happen if the whole world knew about such a spring?

2. Describe the ending of the story Tuck Everlasting.

Example - The Epilogue is set in the future - two years after Winnie’s death at the age of 78. Tuck and Mae are visiting Treegap again and they note all the changes. For example, Winnie’s cottage is gone and the wood (with the spring) has been bulldozed. With the spring gone and Winnie passed away, the Tucks leave Treegap, as there is no reason for them to be there any longer.
