Nomination Form 11

EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year is the world’s most prestigious award for entrepreneurs. The award makes a difference through the unique way it encourages entrepreneurial activity and recognizes the contribution of the people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

The program was launched in the United States in 1986. As the fi rst and only truly global award of its kind, Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses, recognizing them through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 145 cities in over 60 countries.

Launched in Indonesia in 2001, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program has recognized over 200 Indonesian entrepreneurs for their vision and achievement. Globally, the program has acknowledged around 50,000 entrepreneurs over the past 30 years.

Unlike other business awards programs, which take place only at local or national level, the 2016 country winner will go to represent Indonesia at the international awards ceremony next year in Monte Carlo, Monaco, where he or she will vie for the world’s most prestigious title for entrepreneurs, the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Exceptional individuals who turn ideas into action

The exceptional individuals recognized by Entrepreneur Of The Year are more than simply high achievers; they are the people who seek out opportunities and have turned their ideas into action, vision intoreality, creating a fl ow-on of success for those around them – generating employment and industry growth, driving the economy and progressing society.

Without doubt, it is the entrepreneur’s ability to seize market opportunities, while remaining focused on the business fundamentals that creates long-term, sustainable growth and, ultimately, improves the overall business landscape.

Over the last sixteen years, the Entrepreneur Of The Year program has provided an exclusive opportunity for entrepreneurs to come together to share insights, develop networks and promote the best of entrepreneurial endeavor in Indonesia and worldwide.

Social Entrepreneur Of The Year EY strongly believes that social entrepreneurs are the change agents for society; they tackle a wide range of social and environmental issues by driving social innovation and seizing opportunity others miss – all with the goal of changing the society for the better.

In 2006, EY started collaboration with the Schwab Foundation and since then have been inspired by so many Indonesians, who are committed to improving the society through entrepreneurship, participating in our EY Social Entrepreneur Of the Year award category.

This global connection between EY Entrepreneur Of The Year and the Schwab Foundation offers a number of benefits for the winner of the Social category, including access to the Schwab Foundation’s network and an invitation to the Asia Regional meeting of the World Economic Forum.

What makes a Social Entrepreneur?

Social Entrepreneur is an individual who leads an organization, whether for-profit or not, to achieve large scale, systemic and sustainable social change through innovation and entrepreneurial approach to social, economic and environmental problems.

The recipients of this award are individuals primarily responsible for directing the activities and longer-term strategy of a social enterprise (not public sector) which seeks to benefit the community. They have demonstrated superior entrepreneurial ability in leading their enterprise and developing a business model and strategic alliances to deliver measurable outcome and sustainability.
