Thyme like other herbs has no toxin content or might only have very small content toxin

but no bad harmful microorganisms and bacteria and fungi for the volatile oil components of

thyme have also been shown to have antimicrobial activity against a host of different bacteria

and fungi. Staphalococcus aureus,Bacillus subtilis,Escherichia coliand Shigella sonneiare

only of few of the species against which thyme has been shown and proven to have antibacterial

activity. And little-known fact that herbs (and spices) such as thyme have far greater

concentrations of antioxidants than any common fruit or vegetable. Herbs also contain a

particularly widevariety of antioxidants as well, making them one of the top antioxidant foods

around making them no toxin or against toxin content.

aBased in part on a 1988 report from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

(FAO)/World Health Organizaiton (WHO) (8) and in part on new calculations of the distribution

of iron requirements in menstruating women. Because of the very skewed distribution of iron

requirements in these women, dietary iron requirements are calculated for four levels of dietary

    iron bio-availability (Table 40).
