• Increase in students: Dallas ISD ~ 25; D’ville ISD ~ 275

• Students finishing at existing school: Not just our decision We will work with both ISDs to assure students needs are the top priority

ANNEXATION PROCESS• Increase in tax revenue:

Dallas ISD ~ $7M; D’ville ISD ~ $2M

• Current over 65 frozen tax levys (or those filed by the appraisal district deadline) will remain frozen

• Homeowners who have filed over 65 will pay the same frozen amount at the new ISD

• Over 65 frozen - What you paid last year is what you will always pay, unless it goes down

We are majority homeowner tax base We are growing; enrollment up 450 students from last year Need to add industrial/business tax base Goal to reduce taxes for all DeSoto ISD Balance provides financial security should one tax base decrease
