Structure repair to foundationWet soil not only causes leaks in your basement, but because of freeze & thaw cycles, it creates pressure on the wall. Over time, this can bow and damage your foundation walls. If this happens, in addition to the waterproofing process, Spanulo C&W can tear out and replace your foundation block walls.

Completion of ProjectSpanulo C&W will take care of any required city permits and has a reputation for working closely with city building departments to insure all construction is to code.

At completion of the waterproofing process, new soil is replaced and prepared for new landscaping, which is separate and is the responsibility of the home owner.

old dirt, drain tiles are set-up and gravel is filled-in to create a future, dry basement.

exterior excavationIf you were to build a new house, you would use this method and not a temporary interior fix. This is the reason why exterior excavation – solving the problem from the outside – is the superior, long-term solution to water in your basement. At Spanulo C&W, we are experts in waterproofing, and we do it the right way.

In summary, we excavate the soil around your home’s foundation and replace it with new drain tile and backfill with gravel. Soil absorbs rain water like a sponge and causes it to seep through your walls and into your house. The gravel allows rain water to properly drain into the drain tiles and away from your foundation.

the Process:Our quoting process determines how little or how much excavating is needed. This includes the homeowner’s short and long-term desires for the house. (SEE DIAGRAM)

• With our professional construction equipment, we remove old soil and trouble roots and haul it away

• We check for proper drainage flow out to your storm sewer, then install a brand new drainage system of PVC pipe, to code

• Exterior of walls are sealed with foundation emulsion• Finally we backfill with gravel in place of all of that wet

soil that was removed earlier. This is the key to a dry basement, and to minimizing pressure on your walls.
