What are WorkCenters?

• WorkCenters serve as a central dashboard/Launchpad that enable users to navigate to commonly used PeopleSoft pages

• WorkCenters provide visibility to a user’s Worklist and bring critical alerts to users on items they should be monitoring

• WorkCenters enable users to take immediate action in an efficient manner on the exceptions/alerts that are brought to them

How to Add Query Links to WC

• WorkCenters are great for grouping together essential queries your users should be running

• For example, you may want to add a few queries to the GL WorkCenter that are part of your month-end close process.

• Navigation: Enterprise Components -> WorkCenters/Dashboards -> Configure Pagelets

• Select the query tab

• Add a new query

• Select the Access hyperlink on the new query entry. Either select the Public checkbox or assign a valid User/Role of permission list. This is important otherwise you will not see the link in the work center.

• Select Ok to close the window. Make sure to select Activate

• Select a Pilot WorkCenter for initial rollout • Measure User Adoption before rolling out others

• Sort out Administration Responsibilities ahead of time• End Users vs. IT.• Train on WorkCenter Admin accordingly. • Have Admins help Buildout the WC’s during implementation

• Don’t over build….• Identify Mission critical Alerts, Pagelets etc. and go from there.

• Implement fewer WorkCenters and utilize PS Security to manage what the user sees• Goals could probably be accomplished with 3 or 4 WC’s
