Documentary

• For my Documentary I am going to capture the process of creating a short film (Guts).

• I wanted to do the short film for my Extended Project, but it was deemed far too extreme to make for it.

• I want to capture the entire process, from conception to filming to post-production to screenings.

Guts

• Guts is a short story written by Chuck Palahniuk in 2002, which on his book tour in 2003, was first read to audiences.

• It is estimated that over 40 people have fainted from hearing it. Most people pass out when they hit the line ‘That's all this soup of blood and corn, shit and sperm and peanuts floating around me.’

• Two people passed out in Cambridge.

Guts

• And now I am going to read to you all a small paragraph from ‘Guts’.

Development

• Originally wanting to just make ‘Guts’, I have been told to do a Documentary instead, so I have something legit to hand in.

• I have began creating storyboards and scouting locations, including a swimming pool for the film’s finale.

Where it is now

• Storyboards are half finished, locations are being planned, and I’m hoping to have the bulk of ‘Guts’ finished by the end of the Summer.

• After that, it’s screenings, getting people to talk about it, if they don’t throw up or something. I’d be proud if they did.
