Langley Hall Primary Academy believes that children

benefit from having the opportunity to experience a

wide variety of activities to encourage the learning

and development of new skills. It would be impossible

to provide all of these experiences within the school

day and therefore our After School Specialist Club

Programme allows children to select activities that

interest them most and develop skills further under the

guidance of our Specialist Teaching Team. Specialist

clubs are held at both of our school sites.

In addition to our Specialist Clubs we offer a before

school (Early Birds) and after school care (Superstars)

club facility and Holiday Clubs for 12 weeks of the school

holiday period. This enables us to provide continuity of

care and education for our children from 7:30am to

6:00pm for 48 weeks of the year. This greatly enhances

the children’s sense of wellbeing and inclusion.

If you would like your child to take advantage of a Specialist Club, Early Birds or Superstars, please look at the list of available clubs, then log onto the Laser and click on the ‘Book a Club’ link. If spaces are available in the clubs of your choice it will allow you to book the clubs that you wish your child to attend next term. If the club is full, you will be told at the time of booking and your child’s name will be added to the waiting list. You will then be emailed when a place becomes available in the club. Charges for the clubs will be added to the school payment system before the start of each term.

Superstars and Early Birds clubs may still be booked on an ad-hoc basis but spaces are limited and must be booked online.

The system will allow parents to plan their childcare up to a week in advance. It will then advise the school office which children are booked to attend Superstars or Early Birds each day.

Please note that the deadline for Early Birds bookings is 3.59pm the day before the club is required, and Superstars must be booked no later than 1.29pm on the day.

Children whose parents are more than ten minutes late collecting them at the end of the school day will be brought to the school office and an attempt will be made to contact their parents. These children will then

be placed into Superstars for which an ad-hoc charge of £5.35 per hour will be added to the school payment system.

Please note: This does not apply after Superstars has ended at 6.00pm. Please refer to the table above for the penalty charges in this instance. Ongoing late collection of your child may result in the withdrawal of this service.

We offer a minibus service which collects children from home in the morning, and returns them to their home address in the afternoon. Minibus spaces are charged at £1.75 per journey and routes are planned according to applications. To apply for a place, please complete the ‘Minibus Request Form’ under the ‘School Forms’ section of Laser. Places will be confi rmed by Friday 5th July 2019.

We also offer a shuttle bus service, which transports children between the two school sites. Applications should be made through the ‘Clubs Bookings’ system on Laser the same way that you would book a club. Shuttle bus spaces will be allocated on a fi rst come, fi rst served basis. Once full, children will be added to a waiting list and contacted when a space becomes available.

Children who travel on a bus more than 15 minutes after their school day fi nishes will be required to attend Superstars or a Specialist Club to ensure continuity of their care prior to travelling.

Clubs and minibus must be paid for in full before the fi rst day of term. Failure to do so will result in your child being unable to use the service.

Please note: when you book a club or the minibus service you are committing to pay for them for the full term and will be charged as such. Half a term’s notice is required to cancel a club or the Minibus for the following term and must be given by the last day of the half term holiday. Neither clubs nor buses may be cancelled part way through the term and are non-refundable even if your child does not utilise the service for any reason (including absences from school). This applies to Specialist Clubs, Early Birds and Superstars.

Our Holiday Club runs for 12 weeks of the school holidays from 8am to 6pm. Each day is packed with activities and each week is based upon a particular focus or theme. The clubs are led by Langley Hall Play Rangers and are based at our St. Mary’s Road site, so that we can make use of our heated indoor swimming pool.

Holiday Club costs just £110 per 5 day weekor £30 per day.

We provide all activities, an afternoon snack as well as a wide range of resources. Children should bring their own packed lunches and their swimming costume, hat and towel as we offer swimming each day. Places at our Holiday Club are limited and allocated on a ‘fi rst come, fi rst served’ basis. The club can be booked for selected days or full weeks, although a minimum booking of two days per week is required. Please complete the attached information form and return it to the school offi ce together with the booking form showing the dates you have requested.

A £5 deposit per child, per day is required to secure your child’s place and should be paid at the time of booking. Bookings close one week prior to the club commencing and full payment must be received 7 days before the club starts.
