The first thing you should do is to decide the topic, consider your audience and identify the number of slides you may need. Make an outline of the material that you plan to cover, and then divide the material into individual slides. The basic structure of a presentation –

1. A main title slide 2. An introductory slide that lists the major points. 3. One slide for each point. 4. A summary slide.

Consider, how much time each slide should be visible on screen during presentation The outline tab helps you to think through your information and place it during your presentation sequentially on each slide. Apply built in template and add more slides. You can add visual effects such as transitions between slides, ani-mated text or objects and more to make your presentation more interesting. Check spelling and grammar and you are ready with your presenta-tion.

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY UN organisation was established to make this world peaceful and terror free and to provide awareness about the peace, UN decided to cele-brate International Peace Day in 1982. Since then International Peace Day is celebrated every year. The purpose to celebrate this year is to create sense and awareness in the people about the importance of peace. UN gives the message to the whole world to respect each other because peace can only be created if people respect each other. When people start to respect other feel-ings and other religions, peace develops in the region. On International Day of Peace different organisations including UN arrange programs all over the world. All countries arrange meetings and conferences to highlight the need and im-provement of peace. Schools and colleges also arrange programs for their students and stu-dent’s present modals highlighting the value of peace. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that,” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream

The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.

Either you run the day, or the day runs you.

6 www.shsmoga.com

I , Captain Gurmeet Singh Sembhi, presently residing Moga had Complet-ed Std 10th in Year 1993. I am the classmate of present Principal Vijaya Abra-ham.

I spent my days at SHS in a very Simple and Mannered way under the Floral Guidance and Supervision of Our loving Big Uncle and Big Miss.

I must admit that even being an average academic class student, I re-ceived full support from The Teachers all the time. Post School Was also guided to me by Big Miss.. especially the Motivation Letters wrote by her to uplift my Mental and Calibar standards to Achieve success in Merchant Navy. Thence i found my path and transformed into a very successful Merchant Navy Officer. Completed my Captains license as well B.Tech Nautical science from South-ampton Solent University & Warsash Maritime Academy , United Kingdom. Presently Serving in the Rank of Captain on board Merchant Navy Crude oil ships owned by one of the largest shipping Company Called Anglo Eastern Ship Management.

After 14 Years of my Sea Career, I realised that it was the Foundation which helped me to achieve my goals later, & that was laid by SHS. We realise only we complete the tenure at school.

Sacred Heart has Transformed to a very Organised and Multi Speciality School as compared to the Times i spent during my study years at SHS.

This proves the Continual Hard work and Motivation level being displayed by Students as well Teachers to remain harmonised with current Academic and technical requirements in this industry.

I would like Convey a message to all SHS stars, that Keep the good work and results are showing across the Globe.

I Congratulate and wish a very Good Times and Upkeep of SHS to all the Teaching Staff and the Senior Management.

It is very pleasant to recollect my school days. I was admitted to class V. I passed long seven years in the same school. This long period was associated with pleasant memories of various kinds and some bitter ones too!!!

When I was newly admitted, I was very shy to speak in front of a gathering and neither did I have had a lot of friends due to the same reason. But slowly and steadily my respectful teachers helped me grow in confidence and also commu-nication skills and as a result now I have a great friend circle from school. Most of the teachers interacted openly and mixed with us, still we had some strict ones too. But being a student one is obliged to respect all his teachers and so did I.

Apart from studies, other activities like sports, English club, computer club, and other events were great experiences. Not only we got away from some bor-ing lectures but also got to learn something new in every event. I was good in studies and so I had less experience of punishments or beatings. Our school is still developing and many new facilities were add-ed by the school management and best of them was obviously installation of A.C.s in every classroom which gave relief from the heat.

In sports I only got some experience when I got into our school cricket team. Though we lost in the sem-is but it was a great experience to atleast be a part of the school team. School provides a lot of opportu-nities in sports and many of my friends reached national levels in cricket and basketball.

I was the 2nd topper in 10th board exams and 3rd in the 12th and I had maintained good percentages in both. This was result of the constant efforts that my teachers had put in to get the best out of me and hopefully my hard work did not disappoint them. These two events were the prime memories as I had grown up from being an average student to atleast get into the toppers. School life provides opportuni-ties to develop but it is in our hands whether we follow the right path to develop our skills or remain a part of the usual dull crowd.

But now a I’m surely missing those days and the care that the teachers gave us. Now I’m pursuing my B.Tech in NIT Jal. Yes, college has been very good but those school days were very different and had much more fun in it. I’m glad that I was part of such a great school like SHS.

Importance Of Sports In Students Life Sports play a vital role in molding a students’ life. As we all are aware that," All work, no play makes Jack a dull boy." A student excelling in sports will also shine in his academic career. He will be a brilliant outstanding stu-dent in his studies.

The importance of sports in the life of a young student is invaluable and goes much further than the basic answer that "it keeps kids off the streets." It does in fact keep kids off the streets, but it also instills lessons that are essential in the life of a student. It is rightly said that The neglect of health results in sickness which badly effects both mind and soul. Those who take part in games not only have a healthy and robust body but also possess a sound mind. Their outlook of life is generally broad and optimistic

Some parents are averse about sports thinking it may divert his kid’s interest from his studies. The fact is it is not so. It makes him mentally and physically strong to study well.

There are many essentials factor which help us to build our character as well as student life. Sport is one of them. Games teach sportsmanship which includes qualities like team-spirit, discipline, co-operation, fair play and taking victories and defeats in the right spirit.

So games are of great value in the process of education. They keep us fresh and smart as well as they enable us to regain our lost energy. We breathe pure and fresh air in the open playgrounds. Hardwork, physical exercise and fresh air make the players strong and energetic. They teach us value of discipline, co-operation and dignity of manual labour in life. They teach players to be tolerant and create among them the feelings of unity and equality. The spirit of team-work and co-operation generate in them a feeling of community life. Games and sports also win fame to players in addition to money and respect.

The chief object of sports is, of course, bodily exercise. “A sound mind in a sound body” is a well-known saying. The health of the body is essential for success in life. An unhealthy man is always sad, gloomy and therefore loses confidence in him. To keep healthy, one must take an active interest in sports. Thus sports serve an essential purpose in life because they ensure good health and build a fine physique. If one is bodily fit, one feels capable of hard endeavor and life without endeavor is useless. The great advantage of sports is that they combine exercise with thrill, excitement and sensations. In order that we should readily take exercise it should be made interesting and, as everybody knows, practically all kinds of games devised by man possess a certain degree of interest.

THE BEST GIRL - By NAVKIRAN KAUR GILL - VIII-H

According to me the best Girl,

Is not the one who has diamonds and pearls.

She’s not the one who visited world and wide,

She’s not the one who is filled with pride.

She has no will to win more prizes,

She has the quality of sacrifices.

She’s always there to help others,

Whatever backbiters say she does not bother.

She has a wish to learn more,

She has a heart that’s pure.

She’s always an inspiration for everyone,

And does not leave a task till it’s done.

She always has a grin on her face,

She finds her way out of the maze. (Problems)

According to me She’s the best girl,

Who has infinite qualities and many more.

Once there was a duck whose name was Donald and everybody used to call him Duck

Donald. He was poor and so he always had difficulty in getting enough food to eat.

One day Donald Duck was passing through a forest. When he entered the forest he saw

many peanuts lying under some trees. He was very happy to see that he opened his

own peanut shop.

There were only a few customers coming to his shop. So he decided to make an

advertisement board. He thought that when people will read the board, they will come

to his shop to take peanuts and thereby, the no of customers in his shop would in-

crease.

After he had made the board he decided to put it on suitable place. But he need-

ed someone who could help him in doing so. He went to many friends but he did not

get any success. A squirrel whose name was Tony listened this news and decided to help him. He went to Don-

ald and said that he would help him but he would take a peanut. Donald was very happy and agreed with the

condition.

Now, Squirrel helped him in putting board and as per condition it got a peanut. Tony was very happy. It

went home and opened the peanut and was sad to see that it was totally burnt from inside.

Tony went to Donald and said that he wanted a new peanut because earlier peanut was burnt. But Donald

refused and said that he had already given one peanut as per the condition. So he would not give him one more.

Tony become sad and went home in disappointment. At home he saw his three friends, waiting to meet

him. They asked Tony, why was he sad. Tony told them all about how he was cheated by Donald. They all

wanted to help his friend. So they decided to talk to Donald about it.

They went to Donald and asked him to give Tony a peanut. But Donald refused to give it. They warned

him, but again Donald refused. So they all started fighting all of a sudden. As a result, Donald’s shop was dam-

aged and his peanuts were broken and the board too was broken. After the fight the condition of the shop was

very bad and Donald thought that if he would have given a peanut to Tony, then this would not have happened.

Donald felt very bad now.

“Our childhood determines what we will be when we grow”. As said very rightly, “We become what we think. We know that 80% of our society comprises of the youth, i.e., the people less than 30 years of age. So, it becomes evident that the clear picture of a society is portrayed by its youth. Inspite of being highly talented and capable, the young generation is the one that suffers from depression the most. The reason most commonly is being affronted by their own friends and peer groups. The best way to avoid this is to be confident of oneself. I agree, it is quite difficult at times but, “Blessed is he who had learned to follow, but not to imitate.” Always follow your dreams, as you are the only one to define your destiny. Be yourself! Everyone is born unique! Dare to be different! Because if you do what others are doing, you’ll get only what others are getting. If you want to achieve something better try to be better than others. And the best way to be superior to others is to READ. Many people, when have attained certain qualifica-tion, think they have achieved and they don’t need to learn. Is there any wonder they don’t grow? Are they stuck at 30? 40? Or so? Most of us won’t even read unless we have an exam in sight. But, everyday is an exam. In con-temporary society, and the world of technology you never know what knowledge you would need each day. Everyday is a chance to break your barriers and be a better person. Many of your friends wouldn’t like when you read. They might see you as a sceptic or tease you, calling you’re a ‘book worm’. Many would say its just a fun of a week or two, you’ll also become like us and enjoy the life as we are doing. Don’t feel disdained by such comments. Believe me, once you start reading and start enjoying it you’ll become much more confident and rational. Remember: 30Years from now, It will not matter Which shoes you bought,What jeans you wore, or how your hair looked What will matter is; What you learnt, And, how you used it.”
