1) Membership of one of the

recognized Association of Jewelry and

Gemstones

Membership of ALL PAKISTAN GEM

MERCHANTS AND JEWELLERS ASSOCIATION,ALL PAKISTAN COMMERCIAL EXPORTERS OF

ROUGH AND UNPOLISHED PRECIOUS AND

SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES ASSCIATION, or any

other Association for jewelry and gemstonesas may be recognized by the Federal

Government is mandatory for exporter.

2) Registration with Export Promotion

Bureau (EPB)

Exporter of Jewelry and Gemstones shall registeritself with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) asexporter of Jewelry and Gemstones

The exporter along with this application willsubmit the following documents with EPB

Exporters request letter for registration onletterhead of the proprietorship concern,

partnership concern or of limited company as thecase may be

Dully filled application form

3) NTN certificate

Copy and original of National Tax Number

(NTN) Certificate

4) National Identification Card

Copy and original of National Identity Card of

Proprietor, partners or directors as the casemay be.

of Commerce and Industry

Maintain a Jewelry Pass Book authenticated byExport Promotion Bureau (EPB) for placingentries of all exports

It incorporates information on: Name of exporter

Address Phone No., Fax, and E-mail

Export Registration No. and date etc.

9) Sales tax registration numberOne can get Sales Tax, Registration No. by simplyfiling a dully filled in application tothe Sales Tax Department. No document is

EXPORT PROCEDURE

Procedure in general

Export of gold jewelry shall be made according

to the usual Form E procedure of the StateBank of Pakistan.

Form E

Form E will be issued by the Commercial Bankon the request of the exporter. It incorporatesinformation on:

Description of goods and parties; Terms of export;

Quantity and value of goods to be exported;

Name of country to which export is to be done;

Name and addresses of importer; Port of shipment; and

Name of carrying vessel

For gold jewelry studded or embedded with

gemstones, the value of gemstones shall be

shown separately in the export documents

including Form E, clearly indicating therein the

kind, value and weight of gemstones of each

article.

Criteria for Value Addition

In weighing of gold, variation of 1% shall beallowed between weight declared by theexporter and assessed by the Customs

Authorities; Export of gold jewelry shall be allowed with

minimum value addition as follows:

a.5% on gold bangles and chainsb.10% on other plain jewelry

c. 15% on studded or embedded jewelry
