FINDINGS
Major crops, Rice and Sugar are in surplus as per
comparison made with production andconsumption.
Major Fruit Mango, Dates and Banana havesurplus production.
Vegetables Onion and Chilies have surplusproduction.
Sugar industry of Pakistan is working at 75.90%capacity whereas operating capacity in Sindh ismuch less due to the reason that location of
sugar mills being closer in the province creatingoverlapped network and low volume of sugarcanesupply.

As regard Textile sector 27 spinning units out of70 units installed in interior Sindh are closed.

Deteriorating law and order situation.Lack of coordination between growers andexporters as well as between growers/exporterswith Government Departments.
Lack of interaction within GovernmentDepartments itself.
Lack of basic infrastructure facilities and poormaintenance of facilities available. Farm to
market roads condition is deplorable. Similarly,fruits/vegetables markets give shabby andunhygienic look and are not properly maintained.

Scarcity of storage and preservation facilities.
Closure of Airports in interior Sindh except
Sukkur and Moenjodaro, badly affects economicactivities.
Absence of cargo flights from interior Sindh anddedicated air terminals.
Poor market intelligence, timely availability ofquality information is the basis for developing anefficient marketing system, which is lacking. Thegrowers can plan about marketing of theirproduce only provided proper informationregarding prevailing demand and expected pricesis available.
