www.expoferroviaria.com
EXPO Ferroviaria, Italy’s showcase event for railway equipment, products and services, has a new venue – Fiera Milano – and new autumn dates. Strongly supported by the industry, these changes signal a new phase in the development of Italy’s only regular exhibition of railway technology, and will further boost its proven record of success in attracting visits by high-ranking rail professionals.
Rail in Italy continues to benefit from high levels of investment. Dominating the market is national railway company Gruppo FS Italiane, which includes the national network manager RFI. Recent updates to the Contratto di Programma between RFI and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport provide for spending of €17 billion on enhancements to Italy’s main line railway infrastructure between 2015 and 2020.
Urban networks in Italy’s biggest cities are undergoing expansion and modernisation too. Milan, Naples and Turin are among metropolitan centres benefiting from continuing investment.
This will be the eighth edition of an event that is firmly established in the railway industry’s calendar – not only in Italy, but also internationally. It enables participating companies to meet potential customers face-to-face, form partnerships and deepen their understanding of the market. Its role is further enhanced by conferences and seminars featuring expert contributions to provide valuable insights into industry developments and trends.
