The panorama of Medicinal Cannabis in Colombiais very favorable. Since the International Board forthe Control of Narcotic Drugs granted Colombia

44% of the world production for medicinalpurposes.

Why Bogotá?

Main economic center of Colombia. 

It is the contry´s trade center due to its largepopulation of more than 8 millon inhabitants.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, Bogota's GDP was $37.2 billion pesos (DANE)

Geographical position 

Very high rainfall has established reservoirs in deep wells, which serve toirrigate crops without using water from the aqueduct. In terms of trade, the geographical location of Colombia serves as a point ofconnection between the countries of the north and south of the hemisphere.

It works as the gateway to South America, with ports serving the rest of theAmericas, Europe and the countries in the Pacific basin.

Expo Bogotá Cannabisin Figures

Expo Bogotá Cannabis started as a dream, and this dreamhas grown over these 3 years. In our first edition in 2016 wehad more than 500 attendants. In our second edition forthe year 2017 we had more than 1,000 attendants. For thisyear we expect more than 1,500 attendants and for the year2019 we hope to be the most visited congress by national

and international participants with more than 2,500 peopleinterested in Medicinal Cannabis.

Medical Director of KALAPA Clinic. One of the most recognized and specialized doctors in Cannabinoidtreatment; for having turned to give a new vision of the use of Cannabinoids as a palliative and adjuvanttreatment. Graduated from the University of Barcelona in 1979 as a surgeon and currently collegiate inBarcelona. Regular member of the I.A.C.M and member of the Spanish Observatory of Medicinal Cannabis,clinically advises on treatments with cannabinoids.

Dra. Paola Pineda

Medical surgeon of the Bolivarian Pontifical University of Medellin, Colombia. Specialist in medical law andmaster in HIV. Paola became interested in medicinal cannabis after seeing its effectiveness in people withchronic diseases that did not respond to allopathic treatments. She currently treats more than a thousandpatients with medicinal cannabis and serves as the scientific director of the Curativa group.

Dr Raphael Mechoulam

Is an Israeli organic chemist and professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the HebrewUniversity of Jerusalem in Israel. Mechoulam is best known for his work (together withY. Gaoni) in the isolation, structure elucidation and total synthesis of Δ9-

tetrahydrocannabinol, the main active principle of cannabis and for the isolation andthe identification of the endogenous cannabinoids anandamide from the brain and 2-

arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG) from peripheral organs together with his students,postdocs and collaborators.

Cannabis and Metabolomics, an approach to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring.

Medical surgeon, with a master's degree in process of validation and degree with HarvardUniversity, as a clinical epidemiologist; focused on the area of clinical trials and observationalstudies and effectiveness, in addition to scientific writing.

He has been working with medicinal Cannabis and some projects with THC for almost 8 years,focusing on innovation of new products from CBD, Terpenoids, tannins, phenols and has beenventuring into topics such as metabolomics and molecular topology to implement newtechnologies (nanotechnology and robotic hand) in the creation of new "medicines". He is currentlydeveloping a project that includes the formation of a laboratory for innovation and development inmedicinal plants with emphasis on Cannabis and its sub-types.
