Tourism in Indonesia is an important component of their economy as well as of its foreign exchange revenues. A lot of touristic places haven’t reached their full potential yet and that is why the country plans to invest more in tourism development.

Many cultures in Indonesia have special ceremonies for even the tiniest milestones. Many cultures also make a huge deal out of life events like weddings and funerals, mixing them with mesmerizing traditional customs and celebrations.
Among the most famous food in Indonesia are nasi goreng, chicken satay and many other noodle dishes. Tea and coffee are the most popular Indonesian drinks.
In 2019, more than 1400 youth from all over the world volunteered in Indonesia with AIESEC.Will you be one of them to continue this in 2020?
No matter how old they are, Indonesians tend to keep tight relationships with members of their family. For many Indonesian youth, moving out of parents’ house is simply not a thing. Many choose to live under their parents’ roof unless they absolutely have to move, for example to go work in the city.
Popular sports in Indonesia are badminton, football and their own martial arts called Pencak Silat. Indonesia has won gold medals in badminton in every Olympic Games, since the sport was introduced to the Olympics since 1992, except in 2012.

My first week went by really fast, although I had some
difficulties to adapt myself. But the rest of the experience was
simply unbelievable, I have had the opportunity to improve
around nice people in a nice working environment. Another
remarkable aspect of my experience is my host family, who has
supported me more than I had ever expected. In conclusion,
this experience has been unforgettable and I am really thankful
for everyone who has been a part of it.
