    Gods PresenceThe Temple represented the presence ofGod among his people. Gods presenceresided in the Most Holy Place where aveil or curtain separated it from the restof the temple. As such only the High

    Animal SacrificesThe temple was the only place where

    animal sacrifices for sins could be made.It was also the place where the priestwould restore an unclean person who washealed back into fellowship (Mtt. 8;4).

    astray.

    of God in a way that the temple systemcould not do. By his death and resurrectionHe became a Temple substitute

    establishing Gods full plan of redemption.

    Intimate Presence of God

    The tearing of the veil when Jesus died(Matt. 27;51) signifies that through Christ

    (the spiritual Veil and High Priest) allbelievers have the liberty to experienceintimate communion with God.

    Circumcision of the HeartCircumcision was a badge of nationalidentity and a sign of the spiritual covenantwith God. By Jesus death and resurrectionthere is no need for physical circumcision.Through Him all believers have a legal rightto be called children of God.

    with a circumcision done by thehands of men but with the

    circumcision done by Christ

    By his death Jesus offered himself and his

    blood once for all to provide permanentforgiveness and the opportunity to freelyfellowship with God. Thus, the need to offeranimal sacrifices is eliminated.
