Accessibility and Adobe Presenter
While the published product of Adobe Presenter has some accessibility features, the Adobe Presenter add-in available via PowerPoint has some accessibility limitations. See answers to accessibility issues under Additional Resources for more information.
Designing for AccessibilityWhen using Adobe Presenter to create a presentation:
It should be noted that Adobe Presenter does not have a feature that allows for captioning of audio to be built into the presentation
Be sure to put alt text descriptions on all included pictures
Avoid using tables as Flash does not permit for call outs of column and row headers
Responding to quizzes and surveys has limited accessibility
Shortcut keys for users with JAWS need to be disabled in order to pause, play, stop, and mute audio in a presentation
Quick Tips
When creating a presentation, it is a good idea to create your script prior to attempting to record the audio.
Adobe recommends that the presentation be no longer than 40 slides. If more than 40 slides are required, consider breaking the presentation into modules.
As Adobe Presenter is an add-on to Microsoft PowerPoint, the creation of Adobe Presenter presentations can only be done on a Windows based computer.
