Internal CalibrationOHAUS’ signature AutoCal™ internal calibration system provides routine maintenance by automatically calibrating the balance every time it senses a temperature change of 1.5°C or every 3 hours, whichever occurs first. This helps ensure the accuracy of the balance when the operator has not performed a manual calibration or when the proper calibration masses are unavailable. In addition, to minimize weighing errors and ensure accurate measurements, AutoCal™ utilizes two internal weights to perform a linear calibration.

Auto-DoorsThe automatic door feature, available on certain models, allows access to the weighing chamber without the need to touch the draftshield door. Placement of samples is achieved in one swift motion, eliminating the repetition of picking up and putting down samples due to a lack of free hands.

The automatic doors are also more than a user-friendly feature; they minimize vibrations caused by manual operation that can affect weighing results.

IonizerThe built-in ionizer, included in Explorer automatic door models, generates bipolar ions continuously from positive and negative discharge electrodes and directs the ionized air onto the charged body to eliminate static electricity. These charges can build up in the weighing chamber and alter weighing results by as much as several milligrams.

Ingenious DRAFTSHIELDExplorer’s draftshield provides ample access and visibility to the weighing chamber through the versatile top door and side sliding doors. Selected models feature motorized side doors that open and close automatically with use of the touchless sensors on the base and display.

• The automatic draftshield door models have a new function for automatically opening draftshield doors without touching the balance. It helps to eliminate sample residue transfer and contaminations.

• Side doors seamlessly glide on top-mounted bearings

• The versatile top door offers two entry options; access the weighing chamber by flipping the top door or sliding the glass panel open.

The Explorer series includes three high-capacity precision models with capacities up to 35 kg. Explorer high-capacity balances offer the same intuitive features, such as AutoCal™ and a 1 second stabilization time, with additional functions and attributes to support higher capacity weighing applications.

Removable Doors Provide Convenient Access and Easy CleaningTo address the ease of cleaning requirement often expressed by routine users, Pioneer’s draftshield has been designed with easy to remove doors and panels. Disassembly takes just seconds and all components including the balance housing can be quickly wiped clean.

Periodic cleaning made easy helps avoid sample contamination and extends product life. In addition, a standard in-use cover provides added protection against accidental spillage and helps minimize the chance of damage to the display and keypad.
