“In 8th grade art, we study worldwide contemporary and American artists and discuss how the issues of today are reflected in
artwork. We use personal beliefs to communicate thoughts in creating conceptual artwork which conveys a message in a
nontraditional way. Students will also have the opportunity to explore the career options in visual arts.

“FACS Goals: Learning how to use the sewing machine and
completing a textile project, nutrition exploration,

FACS Goals: Using the sewing machine to construct a
sports bag, exploring the stages of child development, and
developing advanced techniques in food preparation while
increasing knowledge of nutrition and international

7th grade - Energy and the Environment:
Students will investigate the impact of energy on our lives and the environment. In particular, they will design and model alternative energy sources and evaluate ways to reduce energy consumption through efficiency and sustainability.
