Explanatory Notes: Web Platform for new BLTCs

Introduction  The web platform was developed by  KSSENA  in  strong  cooperation with  LK‐Stmk, GIZ  and other  partners  on  the  basis  of  international  best  practices  (www.biomassehof‐stmk.at; www.biomassehof‐achental.de and www.biomassehof.de)  for  future BLTC operators  in  the implementing  countries  of  the  BioRES  –  project:  Bulgaria,  Croatia  and  Serbia.  It  was facilitated  in  English  and  translated  in  the  national  languages.  The  content  of  the  web platform  is  partly  specified  and  can  be  adapted  to  the  special  needs  of  the  future  BLTC operators. The objective of the web platform is two‐fold: 

1. Supporting new BLTC operators in their start‐up phase in market development  2. Providing a management tool for operating a BLTC 

 Additional a BioRES mobile app was developed upon request of partners from implementing countries where  they  see  importance  to  calculate  basic  costs  and  quantities  on  the  field. Technically,  the  app works  on  every  android‐based  devices.  For  operations,  users  do  not need  internet  connections,  so BioRES app  can be used on  remote places and on  the  fields with no internet access. BioRES app is published on Google Play™1, and can be downloaded there. Here is the link to the BioRES app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=brazole.com.biores

We  also  prepared  QR  code  to  ease  access  to  the  app.  This  code  will  be  on  all  training material, BioRES presentations etc.  Active promotion of  the BioRES  app will be done  in  training  seminars, where participants will  get  detailed  instructions  how  to  download  the  BioRES  application.  KSSENA  and  other project partners will actively promote the app on the BioRES‐webpage and via Twitter. Partners will mention  the BioRES app  in  their events and promote  it with newsletters and other publications. The total number of downloads of BioRES app will be monitored.

Structure  The web platform is divided into an external part and into an internal part.  The  external  part  should  present  the  BLTC  with  its  products  and  services  and  should guarantee a good market presence  in the target regions. The internal part – which can only be entered with a special password,  is  for  the  internal management of  the BLTC. The Web Platform is easy to handle and is in line with EU and country specific legislation on personal data  protection  regulations.  All  future  users  of  the web  platform will  be  informed  about obligatory data protection  requirements by KSSENA. When handing over  the web platform the  future  users  are  solely  responsible  for  their  actions  which  are  stipulated  in  the disclaimer. 

 

Disclaimer The  sole  responsibility  for  content  and  use  of  this  web  platform  lies  with  the  BLTC operators. The BioRES project which is funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme provided a  basic  standard  version  of  the  web  platform  as  support  measure  for  local  market development  and  promotion  of  BLTCs  in  the  implementation  countries.  The  individual adaptations by BLTC operators do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the BioRES project. Neither  INEA nor the European Commission  is responsible for any use that may be made of

Procedure   The BLTC operators will not use this exact address but they need their own web address and hosting.  They  will  receive  webpage  and  special  features  of  internal  part  as  Wordpress platform.  

1) BLTC  operator  will  register  domain  (name  of  the  BLTC)  and  hosting  –  (will  be arranged by KSSENA) 

2) Then  they will  get  access  to  KSSENA,  and  KSSENA will  install  the web  platform  on their servers– (only in case they won`t decide to use the hosting of KSSENA) 

3) The whole  installation will be  connected  to  their domain  (or done on  it),  and  they can  start  using  it.  (Creation  of  specific  sections,  inserting  of  their  products, uploading of their pictures, pricelists, etc.) 

4) The whole platform is based on WordPress and the ownership of the web platform is transferred along with all responsibilities related to data management and personal data protection.

5) KSSENA will  provide  first  installation  –  and  guidance  on  the  external  and  internal part  as well  as  on  personal  data  protection  requirements.  KSSENA will  guarantee potential  bug  fixing  related  to  internal  part  of  web  platform  for  time  of  project duration. 

6) After  the  installation  of  the  platform  to  their  servers  –  domains  and  everything  is working  properly,  the  access  from  KSSENA  to  their  servers  (hosting)  will  be cancelled.  Nevertheless  potential  BLTC  operators  can  use  the  service  of  the  web design  company  also  after  this  process,  but  that’s  on  their  own  responsibility  and expenses.  

As  the  web  platform  is  finalised  and  potential  future  operators  are  identified,  the Implementing partners will send this description of the web platform to them. KSSENA will offer them a user‐training via telephone or skype on request.  Potential providers will be asked  to give  their  feedback on  the web platform  for potential changes.

Basically it gives the possibility to manage the supplier & customer contacts with a 

database module, provides a matching tool between supply and sales & services and 

also a logistic tool for deliveries, costs and distances.

3) BioRES mobile app – Description  

Picture  Description

First page of the app is the Biomass calculator, developed in scope of BioRES market information deliverable. 

On the top right corner you can find sign  , where you can get basic information about the project. With the press of this button, you can also choose language. 

On the top line of the app you can chose between Biomass Calculator and Logistic tool Calculator, you can either press buttons or slide right or left on your screen.

When sub window is open you can press Change Language or About

Logistic tool calculator is divided in to four sections:

In each section, you can choose among different units and insert the price for the choosen unit. Only first section is mandatory. 

With press on question mark sign , you get basic information what field requires from you.

Biomass calculator works the same as on the web page:  

Users will choose different wood type and insert moisture in % and amount of energy needed. 

 

Biomass calculator automatically calculates all other fields. 

Example of calculation: Tree Spices: Beech – Fagus sp Moisture (%): 25 Amount of energy needed (kWh): 10000  Results are presented in left picture.
