ExpertCare would like to first thank you for providing the highest quality care to your Recipient. ExpertCare wants to en-sure the safety of our Recipients and con-tinue to give you the tools to provide safe quality care and wellbeing. Below are in-cidents that resulted in Recipient Rights violations. Please review the following Rights reminders to prevent further viola-tions.
Caregivers must provide support and supervision to their Recipient at all times in order to ensure health and safety. Caregivers are to know the Re-cipients IPOS and/or Crisis Plan to be able to properly provide safety while in the community.
When providing care to a Recipient there are many rules that need to be followed and at times these can be difficult to re-member. If you have questions or con-cerns about your case or do not fully un-derstand the IPOS, please call Expert-Care. We are here to help you better un-derstand the Recipient’s Rights before it becomes a violation. We appreciate your attention to this matter. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact ExpertCare at (248) 643-8900.
EXPERTCARE CASCADING
CULTURE
We would first like to say thank you to all of our families
who nominated their caregivers that exemplify “Doing the
Right Thing.” There were some incredible stories of care-
givers championing this value and we are fortunate to have
all of them here at ExpertCare.
Congratulations to our winner Rolanda West! Rolanda was
described by her family as someone “that has gone beyond
to ensure her consumer’s safety at all times and his needs
are met.” She was nominated for her care, honesty, coach-
ing and motivation of her consumer to be the best that he
can be.
Thank you again to Rolanda
and all of our wonderful
caregivers!
ExpertCare Enrichment Series
We are excited to inform you of our next caregiver enrich-
ment series. We will be discussing “The Likeability Factor” Mon-
day June 5th
at 10:00am. The course will be approximately one
hour in length and will be held in the ExpertCare training room.
According to Tim Sanders the more you are liked, the happier
your life will be. We will discuss how to enhance four elements of
your personality, friendliness, relevance, empathy and realness
that you can enhance to improve your Likeability Factor. Bagels
will be provided.
Please register by visiting www.expertcare.com,
under the training schedule please filter by “caregiver enrichment
series”. This event was created for you and is voluntary.
Thank you,
Brooke Peiffer and Dan Jacey
GETTING TO KNOW THE EXPERTCARE
OFFICE STAFF
We thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves and tell
you a little bit about each of our office staff. Each month we
will feature a new interview with someone from our office.
MEET
Lynn MacKillop
ECare: Tell our Caregivers and Consumer families a little bit
about you.
Lynn: I was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to Michigan when I
was 14 years old. I grew up in Clawson; one of the best little
towns around. I am the mother of four, 2 boys are mine, a boy
and a girl are my husband’s. I am grandma to 3 with number 4
on the way. We recently moved to Waterford Township to fulfill
our dream of living on the water, nothing is better than having a
boat in your backyard. I love the sunsets I am usually taking pic-
tures until the sun comes down.
ECare: What is on your bucket list?
Lynn: Travel! There are so many places I want to see, Australia,
Italy and maybe New Zealand. I also want to visit more of the
States, I have never been to New England other than to drive by.
I am the only one in my family who has not been to California.
ECare: What is your position at ExpertCare?
Lynn: I am an Administrative Asst. II.
ECare: What are your job responsibilities?
Lynn: My top responsibility is processing Oakland County au-
thorizations, as well as Wayne County Skilled Services. I am
also responsible for entering new caregivers into our payroll
system. Lastly the phones roll over to my desk, so if the office
is busy, which it almost always is, I will answer.
ECare: How long have you been working for ExpertCare?
Lynn: I just celebrated my 3 year Anniversary!
ECare: Why do I like working for ExpertCare?
Lynn: I like what ExpertCare accomplishes for the families we
serve and the caregivers who help them. I also appreciate that
our ideas are listened to. ExpertCare is always looking for new
and improved processes to make all our days run more smooth-
ly.
ECare: What is the most challenging part of your position?
Lynn: Getting my desk clear of paper; no matter what I am work-
ing on there is always something new for me to work on tomor-
row. It’s called job security.
ECare: What’s a good piece of advice for Caregivers?
Lynn: When filling out your timesheets take your time and be as
accurate as possible. Having less corrections will make your life
easier.
