Experimental Scaled Extracon Plant The Experimental Scaled Extraction Plant enables fully sensor and computer controlled (pilot) extraction. Now available at the Fytagoras laboratories: a computerized and sensor controlled Experimental Scaled Extrac- on Plant in combinaon with mathemacal modelling of the complete extracon process. Extrapolaon of data (and models) from laboratory to industrial scale is a very risky procedure and can be costly when it goes wrong. Therefore, intermediate scale processing plants that are supported by clear mathemacal interpretaons are crucial for validated research aiming at extracon process opmizaon and innovaon. A computerized and sensor controlled Experimental Scaled Extracon Plant (ESEP) is now available at the Fytagoras laboratories. Real me data collecon of all relevant processing parameters are combined with on- line use of mathemacal models. This will result in beer understanding, control and opmizaon with respect to innovaon and upscaling to industrial plants. Addionally, the ESEP can be used for medium scaled batch extracons of herbal plants for producon pur- poses.
