WHY BLUEMEDIA?
BLUEMEDIA DOMES
Provide multiple smaller, high-end projectors to achieve beautiful picture
Feature greater-than-hemisphere design allowing for the maximum amount of hemispherical screen. This creates a significantly “bigger,” more awe-inspiring, more immersive experience
Designed first and foremost for projection purposes, with superior custom-made cinema-quality reflective screen material and special manufacturing processes to minimize seam visibility
Feature our own iPad user interface, making it easy to run even the most complex programs on one device
Utilize single server technology
Provide 30% more screen area
COMPETITIVE DOMES
The Benefits of Using Multiple ProjectorsOther dome theater systems often use a single projector, which is not only more expensive to purchase and maintain than multiple smaller projectors, there is also more optical distortion of the image on screen. Multiple projectors produce an image with equal brightness and greater clarity using the “sweet spot” of each lens, whereas a single projector’s fisheye lens creates an image that is blurrier and more stretched at the edges.
Auto-CalibrationOur proprietary auto-calibration system achieves perfection using advanced blending of multiple projectors in minutes, vs. other systems that can take several days using manual alignment. Our comprehensive process produces superior results, even compared with systems using identical projectors, and allows for the use of more projectors if needed to reach the desired result.
WHY BLUEMEDIA?
8
Up to date with the latest technology May not use the latest technology
Provide larger, more expensive projectors
Have challenges rebooting and switching between different pieces of content.
Utilize multiple servers
May add projection screen fabric, but it’s not part of typical dome design
Lose space because of design
Provide less screen area
OUR WORK
AT&T BYRON NELSON 360 FAN DOME
Not everyone can be a professional golfer. But, anyone who attended the AT&T Byron Nelson Golf Tournament in Dallas did get to experience the action up close and
personal – thanks to the AT&T FanDome! As the title sponsor of the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament, AT&T
enlisted bluemedia to design, produce and install their 50-foot projection FanDome experience, as well as install all of the décor and golf tournament signage
around the tournament.
Inside the FanDome, bluemedia created the ultimate unique experience for tournament
attendees. It was a one-stop shop showcasing the latest offerings from AT&T and DIRECTV, along with numerous 360-degree video footage. The
footage featured live feeds from the first and seventeenth tees, along with coverage from the Golf Channel and CBS Sports. A special vignette of AT&T athlete Jordan Speith was
also included in the projection videos.

OUR WORK
COURTYARD SUPER BOWL SLEEPOVER CONTEST
11
OUR WORK
This contest awarded one winner and a guest with a sleepover in a converted, field-level suite at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota the night before Super Bowl LII.
To help transform the stadium suite into a near-perfect replica of a Courtyard by Marriott hotel room, IMG
LIVE brought in bluemedia. To drum up excitement for the contest and build buzz around the brand, the marketing agency tasked bluemedia with creating a
4D virtual reality dome in the middle of New York City, by Manhattan’s Flatiron Building.
The 33-foot wide custom dome was covered in custom Courtyard Super Bowl Sleepover graphics
on the outside, with a large football and photo of U.S. Bank Stadium. Inside the 360° dome was
a Courtyard by Marriott bed against a custom-fabricated, Courtyard wallpaper-branded wall,
along with comfy, reclining chairs for fans to watch the immersive, 4D VR video. It took a
crew of twenty bluemedia team members thirty hours to install the projection dome on-site. The final product had hundreds of fans and
contest winner-hopefuls lined up around the block, but impressed NFL fans and players alike – resulting in a Super Bowl-sized win!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
29
1. Q. How many people can fit in my dome? A. We have dome capacities ranging from 4 people seated to over a
thousand. Take a look at our specs for details and to find the right dome for your event.
2. Q. Can we have food and drink inside a dome? A. Absolutely! Event domes can be used two ways:
1. For shows and presentations that are preplanned and have seating or standing room for a certain number of people for a certain amount of time;
2. For immersive “dwell” gatherings such as concerts, retail, parties, VIP hospitality and much more.
3. Q. Do I have to get permits to have a dome? A. Yes, both indoor and outdoor domes require permits. Our turnkey solutions
include permitting, and we start on your permit requirements as soon as the contract is signed.
4. Q. Does the dome have heating / AC? A. Yes, all domes are climate controlled.
5. Q. Does my dome include power? A. Yes, though events and programs that require more than the
standard amount of power will have an upcharge.
6. Q. On what surfaces can you install a dome? A. All dome projects start with a site survey so that we can assess the
location. Domes can be installed on any flat, dry surface, and if the surface is not adequate, we will recommend a platform solution for the dome.
7. Q. What type of flooring comes inside the dome? A. Domes come standard with black carpeting. There are many flooring
upgrades available, so let’s talk options!
8. Q. If my dome will be up overnight, do I need security? A. Yes, and we can help provide security if needed.
9. Q. Can I print anything I want on the cover? A. Yes, as long as you adhere to any local laws, licensing regulations and
copyrights, there are no limitations to what can be printed on your dome cover. Dome covers are full color, digitally printed dye-sublimated fabric, which minimizes glare and doesn’t wrinkle. Please allow two to four weeks after artwork approval for production.
10. Q. Can I reuse the cover if I’m doing more than one activation? A. Yes, if stored properly and undamaged, covers can be cleaned and reused.
11. Q. How do I increase awareness and visibility of the dome at my event? A. People are naturally drawn to domes out of curiosity, because of their size
and shape. In addition, your cover artwork, lighting, sound, and entrance will draw people to your dome. bluemedia can also help you with signage and other promotional ideas for your dome. Just ask!
12. Q. Is the dome ADA-compliant? A. Yes, the permits require ADA-compliance. And, if the dome is elevated,
ramps are provided.
13. Q. What is the process to create the content/video for my dome? A. Building and projecting a 360-degree video is a complex process. We
can help you with creative, storyboarding, creation, proofing and delivery of your immersive video, or we can work closely with your team or creative partner while they develop content within our guidelines for the best projection. Virtual reality video or footage captured on 360-degree cameras can be used inside the dome. Traditional video can also be used but doesn’t utilize the full dramatic effect of the dome. Let’s talk about your content ideas.
14. Q. Who runs the program and makes sure everything works properly? A. Depending on your activation, you may have a technologist and/or
executive producer to run your show.
15. Q. Can we do some sort of 4D elements inside the dome to accompany my content/video? A. Absolutely! We can produce rumbling on the ground, heat, fog, wind and
more. Let’s discuss your ideas.
16. Q. How long does it take to put up and tear down a dome? A. It varies depending on the size of the dome. Most domes can be set up in
two-three days and taken down in one.
17. Q. Can I build a custom entrance for my dome? A. Definitely. Let us show you the amazing entrances we have created or
tell us about your vision. We can build the entry to match your dome experience and entice people to enter.
18. Q. Can bluemedia assist with other signage and activations at my event? A. Yes, in addition to all types of technology activations we have full signage
and fabrication capabilities. Let’s talk about your event!
19. Q. Can I buy a dome for my event? A. Not at this time. Our domes are specifically for temporary installations,
though we are very competitive for long-term activations of one week or more.
Let us know how we can help with your next project.
