BUILDING THE SMART CITY FROM UNDERNEATH
• The City of Stockholm owns and/or actively support the development
of strategic infrastructures which form the base for a smart
sustainable city:
o The 1,4 million km optical fibre network
o The 2900 km long district heating network
o Automated waste collection systems

IOT Sensors for Reading Bicyclist and Pedestrian Traffic
• 45 wifi-nodes will be
installed in the area to
gather the following
data:
- How visitors move
in/out of area, entry
and exit points.
- How long the visitor
stays in area.
- How the visitor moves
around in the area.
- approximate speed
for predestrians,
bicyclists
- number of visitors and
returning visitors

CHALLENGING THE CITY ORGANISATION
2018
-02-
The implementation in Slakthusarea is directly or indirectly linked with many different
city organisations - this has been challenging due to lack of commitment,
resources and/or knowledge in several of these organisations but also because of very
fragmented decision making within and between these organisations
ALL MUST BE AN ACTIVE PART TO ACHIEVE THE VISION…
