Q: Our current EMS billing company is charging us 15%.

Are we paying too much?

A: Absolutely. We offer a full range of billing and ePCR

services for a fee in the single digits. Ask about our 7%

across-the-board billing fee, and see how much you can put

back into your budget for next year.

Q: We’re considering doing inter-facility / non-emergency

transports. Can you bill for that?

A: We currently bill for approximately 20,000 such calls per

year. No other billing service in Wisconsin has more

experience with inter-facility / non-emergency

ambulance billing.

Q: Is it correct that a billing service must have a collection

agency license to receive and deposit our payments?

A: Yes, that is the current law in Wisconsin. As a fully

licensed collection agency, we can receive your payments at

our office and electronically deposit them the same day.

Unlicensed billing services cannot receive your payments,

make deposits, or even negotiate payment plans.

Q: Our billing company requires us to open a checking

account at their bank. Do you?

A: No. We remote deposit all payments to our clients’

existing bank accounts.

Q: We have to go online to get our monthly reports.

Shouldn’t we just receive them?

A: Of course! Every month we provide accurate reports via

e-mail or on paper. Just tell us your preference.

Check Your Contract!Imagine you’ve hired a new billing service and signed a contract. A week later, you receive a letter from your current billing service stating that you didn’t provide enough notification to terminate their contract. It’s happened before, and it’s definitely a situation to avoid. The fact is, some billing contracts automatically renew for the entire contract period if notification is not provided within a certain number of days prior to the expiration date of the contract.

If you’re considering a change in billing services, now is the time to review the exit clause of your contract to ensure you can proceed on your terms, and in your time frame.
