Scholarships & Financial Aid Opportunities

MUSIC FUNDINGMusic Majors ONLY:• Chancellor’s Music Award - $3,000/year

Eligibility: Minimum ACT score of 22 and a 2.75 GPA; Participation in All-State and/or other exemplary musical experiences such as Interlochen, Governor’s School for the Arts, Top Tier DCI or WGI participation, National Youth Orchestra, Solo Competition Winner, etc. Exceptional audition required.

• Honors Music Award - $1,500/yearEligibility: Minimum ACT score of 22 and a 2.75 GPA; Participation in All Region and/or other honors music experiences may be considered. Excellent audition required.

• Legacy Music Scholarships & Awards - up to $2,000/yearEligibility: The department of music grants more than 20 named scholarships and awards for outstanding musicians who fit the specific criterion. For more information, please ask the applied studio professor and/or the department chair.

Music Majors and Minors ONLY:• Music Service Award – up to $1,000/year

Eligibility: Acceptance to UT Martin and satisfactory audition required. Participation in assigned ensembles and/or accompanying for pianists required.

Other Financial Resources (All Students Eligible):• Athletic Band Awards – Amount varies

Every student who participates in the Athletic Band WILL receive a scholarship.• Departmental Service Positions – $10 per hour-total stipend is based on each position.

Service positions are available, including, but not limited to the following areas: photography, video editing, graphic design, social media, and piano accompanying. Applications for service positions open at the beginning of each semester. All music majors and minors are eligible to apply.

Junior/Senior Day – Feb. 18, 2019A unique offering for high school juniors and seniors to experience “a day in the life” of a music student on the UTM campus. Participants will have opportunities to observe classes like Music Theory, Music History, and Music Technology, sit in on university ensemble rehearsals, tour the campus and newly renovated Fine Arts Building, and observe our world-class faculty and talented students in action.
