This year we will explore the life of Elijah the Prophet and help students understand that:

“ T O B E C O N T I N U E D . . . ”

You are called into the Story of God You can trust that God can provide because He is real. When you despair, God

will sustain because He is here. You will find purpose when God sends you to reach others. You will continue as God’s

Spirit empowers and His mission endures. Your story, Elijah’s story, God’s story... They’re all still being written... Because

they’re all to be continued.

A quick glossary of terms you’ll hear thrown around while at MOVE.

M O V E I C T I O N A R Y

K I N G D O M W O R K E R S

A Kingdom Worker is a Christian who uses whatever sphere

of influence he or she has to proclaim the message of Jesus.

Kingdom Workers include school teachers, moms, high

school basketball players, bass guitarists, doctors and a

countless list of others. Their ministry may look different, but

they have each surrendered to Jesus, and are committed to

using their gifts, abilities and relationships to

advance His Kingdom.

E L E C T I V E S

We give students the opportunity to encounter Kingdom

Workers, hear Biblical truth taught and be exposed to some

great Christian practices during elective time at Move.

Electives are offered on a range of topics to provide ample

opportunity for further discussion.

The Move app is available on every smart phone platform.

The app contains information about Move and CIY,

devotions for each day, the weekly schedule, and other

pages just for fun! This app will guide your group through

your week at Move.

S K I P A M E A L

Once during the week, MOVE asks everyone to skip-a-

meal. The money is used to help fund MOVE’s International

Conferences in places such as India, Ghana, Costa Rica,

Philippines, Myanmar, and others. During “skip-a-meal” the

campus will not provide a meal, however, you are welcome

to take your group off campus for lunch.

Each night after the Evening Session, each group will get

together to talk about the day and pray together.

This is an option for graduated seniors. The Next Level is

an in-depth Bible study taught by the Morning Speaker

while everyone else is in Encounter Time. This is a great

opportunity for them to get an inside glimpse of each day’s

theme, ask questions, and be challenged in their faith.

T H E Æ F F E C T S T O R E

The Æffect Store is the place to purchase MOVE apparel and

resources!

E N C O U N T E R T I M E

Following the Morning Session, students and leaders are

dismissed to Encounter Time and Small Groups. This creates

an opportunity for them to participate in devotions that are

tied to the daily themes. The devotions can be found in the

Student Magazine.

The options at every campus are different and will be

announced at the event. MOVE organizes tournaments

during some of the afternoons: 3-on-3 basketball, volleyball,

ultimate frisbee and dodgeball.

Most rooms are suite style, with two rooms connected by a bathroom. We have a few dorms that are traditional style dorms, with each room opening to the hallway and sharing a community bathroom. Both the traditional and suite-style rooms sleep two to a room.

We also have apartment style dorms. These dorms have two rooms, two bathrooms, a living area and a kitchen. The apartment as a whole sleeps four (two to a room).

(NOTE: Room assignments are based on registration date)

They will either be between two rooms (four to a bathroom), community restrooms allowing the whole hall to use them, or apartment style (three to a bathroom).

Yes, every dorm has air-conditioning.

No, we do not have an on campus pool, there is however a community pool in the city if needed.

We have two outdoor volleyball courts, an outdoor basketball court and multiple tennis courts. There is also an intramural softball field, a playground and many open field spaces.

Everything is within reasonable walking distance. Any dorm that may be farther away than others is usually nicer, so it’s worth the extra walk!

On campus, we have our dining hall, Einstein’s Bagel, Dunkin’ Donuts, Subway, Jazzman’s Coffee, Chick-Fil-A and a couple of “Simply To Go” stations that have light lunches or things that can be eaten on the run.

There is Lupi’s Pizza Pies right down the road from campus as well as The Spot and Gardner’s Market which are located in our “downtown” area which is right next to campus. As far as local hot spots, Jenkin’s Deli is always a favorite as well as anyway of our many Mexican restaurants (a student favorite is Tres Hermanos which is right down the road as well.) Perkits Yogurt is another local favorite!

We are about 30-45 minutes away from the Downtown Chattanooga area, which is great for walking and hanging out with large groups! As far as local activities, most students enjoy hanging out near the Rec Center every night at the basketball and volleyball courts or going to see a movie at our local movie theatre, Premier. If you are looking for an activity with a little more adventure, white water rafting down our Ocoee River is also really popular.

We have a beautiful campus and most youth ministers love coming to visit the area. Our University is one of the most popular Christian Liberal Arts Universities and continues to grow each year. We love having students filling the emptiness of our students being gone, keeping our campus busy!
