Experiencethe Green movement

that is shaking the

world!

Green Design is opening the doors to

a better and healthier environment today

and for generations to come. Ozone

depletion, energy demand, deforestation,

population growth, global warming and

many other factors have become the

driving forces behind the advancement

of the Green Movement.

Why enroll in the Green Design Initiative at Collin College?

Collin College’s Interior and Architectural Design

program equips students to enter the world of Green

Interior and Architectural Design, a design specialization

that is increasingly in demand.

Collin College’s Green Design Initiative is

among the first colleges in the nation to have an

undergraduate program of this magnitude.

The Green Interior and Architectural Design program provides courses that are

helpful to students who seek to enhance their

knowledge of Green Design, as well as seek an

Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Interior

and Architectural Design.

Collin College offers courses, degrees and certificates

in Interior and Architectural Design directly related to

Sustainable Design in the marketplace.

About the Interior and Architectural Design Program

The Interior and Architectural Design program prepares

students to enter the world of spatial design. Specialized

knowledge needed by an architect or interior designer includes

spatial composition, drafting, space planning, building codes

and materials.

With an AAS degree in Interior and Architectural Design, the

student will have the necessary skills to enter the profession as

an assistant at an interior design firm, an architectural firm or a

space planning/facilities management department of any large

corporation, among many more professional opportunities.

The Collin College graduate will

also be prepared to transfer to an

accredited professional program in

Interior Design or Architecture.

Interior and Architectural Design

is a state-licensed profession and

all state requirements must be met

before a license can be issued.

The basic objectives of

Green Design, also called

Sustainable Design and

Eco-Friendly Design,

are to:

• Reduce our negative impact on Earth

• Create healthy and comfortable environments

• Ensure that future generations enjoy the

natural resources that we leave behind
